Best hotel we have stayed in Melbourne. Staff was amazing and facilities...everything you need. Bed was comfortable and everything was so clean. Design of the room...loved!!!.

Breakfast buffet was disjointed but a good variety and range.
Guest room: too dimly lit; toilet was heated and electronic and just too complicated. Reception charged an initial AMEX amount which I had thought was a pre-authorisation, and then overnight sent an e-mail stating they had taken another charge over my AMEX for $4,115.00! Complained at desk. They said a typo and was meant to read just $415.00. I explained I had never been hit with a secondary pre-auth in any Australian hotel over 30 years of almost constant travel....no apology just said that it the policy of this Hotel. No discussion with me before AMEX charged, just an e-mail sent at 2.49 AM!!. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone. Staff were all pleasant, but decor issues, standards and this pre-authorisation issue was not well managed and means that I will resign as a Marriott Bonvoy member (after 25 years!).
