The hotel and room were fantastic. The toiletries - to die for.
Sadly the hotel bar didn't stay open very late but a very nice gastro pub opposite - The golden pig - definitely worth a visit and their own fizz / sparkling wine is absolutely fantastic.
Overall, highly recommended
Bar could have stayed open a bit longer (think it was 8/9pm) but then again - hotel wasn't very busy so sort of makes sense.

The Thatcher is a beautiful, well maintained hotel.
Coffee shop was clean, bright and cute.
The bar and sitting area was the topping on the cake. Quaint and comfortable. Kevin at the bar was a treat. What a mixologist. Specialty cocktails! He could make any cocktail with his collection of garnishes, bitters, etc.
Location because of the road noise due to steel plates on the road ( hwy 101 ).
Load all night with traffic.
Our air conditioner was very loud. Even ear plugs provided by hotel were not enough to help much with the noise.

The location of the property was great. The old school feel and to stay at a place that was part of history. Super cool. The bar and library area were awesome too. Parking is convenient.
They ended up moving us from our original room to a different one due to the construction of 101. The room they put us in was very dirty. Bug carcasses, cobwebs, dust bunnies, and hair in the drains. The bed was also too-too soft and uncomfortable. The construction outside was also so loud that it was hard to fall asleep. Thankfully they gave us earplugs.

Attractive property, friendly staff, comfortable bed.
No coffee available (we had Early departure ) there’s a cafe on site, but closes early opens late. No ice machine, single faucet in shower directly beneath oversized, overhead shower head, forcing one to get wet with cold water just to turn it on…
