This was my second time staying at this hotel, and I enjoyed my stay traveling alone just as much as I did last year when I came with my family.
The neighborhood is lively and touristic, and the hotel is very close to Haliç Metro Station. I especially appreciated that the route is not uphill or downhill, which makes a big difference when you’re carrying luggage or a backpack.
Since the hotel is family-run, there is a genuine warmth and sense of safety that made my stay even more enjoyable. Everyone working there was kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. You can really experience Turkish hospitality here.
I especially loved the breakfast. It was more than enough for someone who wants to have a good start to the day and then spend hours walking around Istanbul sightseeing.
The room was very clean, and the housekeeping service was excellent.
I would definitely stay at Rodion again on my next visit to Istanbul. Highly recommended.

Kind owners who stayed up late to check us in. Property was good value. Nice local area right by the Egyptian Market and with the best 24/7 Kebab shop just around the corner.

Mehmet and his father were incredibly kind, welcoming, and hospitable. They made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Even though breakfast time had already finished, they still kindly offered us breakfast, which we really appreciated. They were always friendly, helpful, and happy to assist with anything we needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and the service was excellent. Their genuine hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is excellent just a 4-minute walk from the nearest station. It’s also only about a 20-minute walk to the Fatih tourist area, making it very convenient for exploring the city. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafés nearby, so everything you need is within easy reach.

The staff were helpful and available whenever we needed assistance. The location is also very good, and the area felt safe.
The main issue was the room we were given upon arrival. It was a ground-floor room without a window and without any possibility of getting fresh air, which made the room extremely uncomfortable, especially for sleeping at night.
When we raised the issue, the hotel manager explained that the room corresponded to the category we had selected on Booking and that we would have to pay €10 extra per night to get another room. However, there was no clear information during the booking process stating that the room had no window. The mention of a terrace could also reasonably make guests believe that the room was properly ventilated.
We believe this important information should have been clearly stated in the room description. We initially accepted the room because we had just arrived exhausted and it was very difficult to find another hotel without a reservation.
Fortunately, two days before the end of our stay, the hotel manager offered us a much more comfortable room as a gesture of goodwill. We appreciate this gesture, but we believe we should have been provided with a suitable room from the beginning, without having to pay extra.
We believe that the room we were given did not meet the standards we would reasonably expect from a property listed and booked through Booking.com. A ground-floor room with no window and no access to fresh air should have been clearly disclosed before booking.
