Hotel in general was fine. Nice room, quiet, breakfast looked very nice (had other plans, so didn't try it.
Climate control was a disaster. Upon entry, the room was 27.5°C (82°F). I set the A/C down to 18.0°C, and the tiny system responded with blowing some not cold air. I tilted the windows open (only option) as it was cool outside and went to sleep, hoping that it would cool down. After a not-so-good rest, the temp shown on the thermostat in the morning was still 26.5°C (80°F). We had checked in quite late, and desk attendant had taken several minutes to assist; that, combined with the faith that the A/C system was capable of doing its job kept me from requesting a different room. Apparently that would not have been possible, since the desk attendant told me at check-out that there was no other room available anyway. I have traveled quite extensively in Europe, and know that many older hotels do not have A/C. This has never been a problem as I have virtually always been able to open the window for fresh air. I expected this hotel to have tolerable climate controls, based on its generally "American" style and roots, or at least windows that could provide effective ventilation. I was wrong.
