The Black Horse Inn

Another unplanned night away so we would be good and early for a local huge carboot sale ay Helmswell Gainsborough. Perfect location a few miles away. Lovely looking building in a Smart looking Village. Wonderfully cheery welcome and pleasant check in process. Everything explained very staright forward . The Pub is beautifull, traditional fittings with a modern twist on the decorating. Would love to have been a fly on the wall when someone suggested White Grey and Orange. It works. The rooms we stayed was a pupose built Challet ? I suppose.Its large roomy and comfortable with a sofa and nicely furnished. Everything you would want for an overnights stay. Bathroom room was lovely. Everything in the room was clean tidy and fresh. We dinned at the pub and the food was amazing. Lots of pub favourites and some really good looking and smelling specials We were by kitchen doors and watched them go free. Can i say my Black pudding and potato stack starter was awesome. Vegan and Veggies are well catered for too. Waiting on Staff were excellent ,chatty and friendly. Credit to the Pub management In morning we were treated to a lovely fully breakfast with quality well cooked items.. Again lovely staff Its an odd place but perfect location for what we wanted and a really good stay. Will be staying again

I wont change my mind on "Comfort" as the room was comfortable clean and ambiant.. I like a softer bed my wife doesnt. Lets say She had a better sleep than i did .

The room was large, comfortable , and very clean. Everything you'd expect was provided. The rooms are separate from the pub so there is no noise from the pub. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast is pre ordered the night before so you can chose what you want and when you want it. The breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked and very generous.

Nothing, you couldn't expect more from a village pub.

I stay here every time I travel to nearby Blyton Park for work. Staff are always lovely, fun & accommodating. Rooms are soo nice and comfortable. Hot showers (that don’t require an engineering degree like some to adjust the temp). There’s a shop literally 5 mins walk if you want a snack for your room.

Shower cubicles could be a tad bigger but they’re perfectly usable anyway.

For a ‘pub’ bed and breakfast, the rooms were very pleasant! More space in the accommodation than expected 😊 the room was nicely decorated and it would be a nice place for a while weekend or longer.

Overall cleanliness was good, however some areas could have been better, like the bathroom. Although the check in process was smooth, the booking stated breakfast was included. Unfortunately, even after showing the booking confirmation on my phone we were told it was not included and were expected to pay additionally.
