breakfast and dinner were excellent as was the beer. The staff were helpful and friendly with a nice atmosphere in the bar made it a very enjoyable stay - I'd be in there every night if I was a local.
Room was dated but spotlessly clean, everthing worked and the bed felt like it had a good quality mattress and bedding so being a bit picky but fair I think.

Fantastic location- beautiful village and ideally located for Scarfell Pike.
Great pub, friendly staff , good place to stay
The hotel is going through a plan of improvement- loved the honesty of the owner, decor in bedrooms a little tired and could hear next door ( open windows due to hot weather)but the bed was comfortable, hot shower and friendly staff serving great food.

Friendly bar staff, awesome location so near the stunning Wastwater, pretty quiet
It wasn't the room shown in the photo but we knew it was the last one; decor was pretty tired; shower didn't drain properly; OK but uninspiring breakfast
