Wonderful place to stay in the western Lake District.

We had a delightful stay at the Wayside. It is in a charming location. The attached Whiskey Barn was a great place for drinks before dinner. Food was great and cooked to order. Our room was lovely, large and spotlessly clean with thoughtful amenities.

It was all great.

Exceptional

We could not find a fault! We stayed here for 2 nights and we are already planning when we can come back! Emiko and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The whole place including our room was spotless! And the view from our room was incredible! The breakfast was great too, just wish we had tried out the Whiskey bar but we can save that for next time haha! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

The fabulous Wayside and Whiskey Barn

Waking up with rolling hills in a genuinely amazing guest house after the best nights sleep in years would have been enough for five star rating, but add to that the friendly welcome, dream of a Whisky barn and fabulous breakfast.......... we will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much Emiko

They are incredible. Such a special stay for us! Beautiful place to stay, immaculately clean, LOVELY food and bar area. We stayed in the ANEX with our two little sausage dogs for two nights! The hosts are incredibly friendly and took the time to tell us the hidden gems of the lake District. Log fire and lovely bath in our room! SO well presented and little touches of treats for the dogs too! LOVED every minute and cannot wait to be back there soon with our newest edition! I would 110% recommend a stay!

Everything, it was jusy what we wanted. quiet, scenery, lovely food and wonderful people . Doreen and Kemiko were so accommodating, friendly and caring people.

We drove at night to get there and did not see the wonderful scenery , our fault entirely. When we go next we will change that.

A beautiful property in the Western lakes. We loved it and want to go back as soon as we can

Friendly staff greeted us and gave us great recommendations. We had a beautiful view from our window, a clean, spacious room, and we felt very happy with where we had booked. Massively recommend.

Friendly warm welcome. Secluded and peaceful property. Beautiful comfortable room. Hosts very knowledgable on local area and Dan even took me on an impromtu motorbike ride on roads I wouldn't have known about.

Amazing in every way

The Wayside was absolutely beautiful! Emiko and doreen could not do enough for you. The rooms/place and location was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay that much we are already planning on returning next year. The food was 10/10 and the whisky barn i think was my partners favourite trying different ones and emikos knowledge on whisky made it even better. If your looking a relaxing stay and a great view i would not hesitate to book

Beautiful B&B in a stunning location

We had a fantastic stay in the beautiful B&B. Emiko and the rest of the staff team made us so welcome. The food was delicious and the room was lovely. The B&B is so well cared for, it’s a really great place to stay in a stunning location. We would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely stay with great host and good atmosphere and food.

Location was ideal for our stay close to Haverigg mx track Breakfast and Dinner were excellent great produce and well cooked. Beautiful views and staff were amazing nothing to much trouble. Room was great and loved all the little extras in the room.

Clean room, great food excellent staff and a very welcoming stay!

Scenic remote location with great breakfast and options to pre order evening meal and packed lunches. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Would highly recommend to others.

I loved this place the bedrooms are lovely but one thing was missing, a comfy chair to sit on in the bedroom, especially if you have old bones like me.

Very relaxing enjoyable stay in the perfect place

The Wayside and Whisky Barn was truly an amazing find. It is immaculate throughout and a welcoming atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. The room was tastefully presented, comfortable and relaxing. Emiko is the perfect host, friendly and welcoming with knowledge of the Lakes. Breakfast was very good too. We will definitely return hopefully very soon.

Outstanding place. Emiko and her team do a fantastic job. Friendly, helpful and very informative. Nothing too much trouble. The food was excellent and the rooms were immacultae

A fresh bottle of water was left in the room every day which was very nice however, when returning after a long day it was invariably warm. Maybe a cooler or something would be helpful.

What an absolute pleasure it was to stay at the Wayside & Whisky Barn. Emiko was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless and very spacious. Food was great, and the bar was so relaxing after a long day. We look forward to returning in the future.

Absolutely perfect, can’t wait to visit again

everything was absolutely perfect the food, room & the welcome you receive. I’d recommend trying out the whisky whilst there. The owners knowledge enabled me to try & enjoy whisky for the first time at the age of 52. There are also some lovely walks right on the doorstep.

Lovely, relaxing stay in an amazing location

The property was in a lovely scenic, quiet location, it was a lovely room with amazing attention to detail, the staff/ owners were amazing, really friendly, kind and knowledgeable and made you feel extremely welcome, they were attentive, I would definitely recommend this place. Perfect getaway to go and relax in the lakes.

Everything was perfect. From beginning to end Emiko gave us a very warm welcome. The place is fantastic and has gorgeous views. We loved that in order to keep the place clean we were ask to take off the shoes. Somehow it makes you feel like home. The room es very cozy, warm and well equipped. We had the chance to try some food, and it was delicous. Both dinner and breakfast. My partner is a whisky lover, and had a wonderful time at the whisky barn. Emiko explained all the different options and recommended him. We did not want to go at all! Totally recommend!

Can't wait to go back!

The room we stayed in was beautiful, the bedding so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning! Both breakfast and the dinners we had there were phenomenal and the bar area was the best place to sit and chill. Our host Emiko was amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and that we got most out of our time in the lakes- we will definitely be back!
