The hotel is in a brilliant location for exploring the western Lake District. The hotel offers very comfortable accommodation. My bedroom was large with all amenities for a very pleasant stay. The meals were of a high standard.
One little niggle - TV reception in my room was poor and some channels which should have been available were not.

Great location, excellent friendly staff, good food & added bonus village shop in rear courtyard
Only complaint was fans directly outside room 16 noise when kitchen used below so disturbed sleep early morning. Didn’t realise till last day the fans were the cause otherwise would have asked for room change

Location was ideal for us ( railway visit) . room décor good and bed comfy. Room and large bathroom very clean with fluffy towels. Not noisy so had a restful sleep. Communal areas in good condition with comfortable lounge, dining room and bar areas.
Area for parking at rear a bit tight for space and large puddles. Service could be improved it seemed staff were in auto mood most of the time. Staff in dining room not proactive we had to ask a lot of questions to get information. There was no indication on breakfast menu what was and was not included in the ' Continental' option.

Nice staff
Room is spacious and the beds are good
The lobby and restaurant are nice
The room is much older than it shows on the web.
Furniture and wall were a bit worn out and there are some old dirts on the armchairs.
We stayed in the room on top floor on a very not day. One blind was damaged, the other was so hard to pull down and we spent quite some effort to get it done so we can have a shaded room.
The window in bathroom has broken handle, we couldn't open the window so the bathroom was quite damp.
