The property is really beautiful and the staff are friendly. The pool is a lovely touch and is really nice to relax around and take in the views. Breakfast is good but could do with a little more hot variety.
The beds are a serious issue we had back pain all week from how hard and uncomfortable they are and the pillows are like lumpy cotton wool I’m pregnant and got little to no sleep. The shower is also a nightmare it just fires in all directions really aggressively. Parking is difficult there’s only so many spaces and you really need to be an expert parked to get into the awkward space I also wouldn’t recommend coming here without transport as it’s right high up in the mountains.

Absolutely beautiful property with breathtaking views. Really felt like I was living in a stately home so was extremely happy with that. Very well preserved and lovely feel. The staff were so helpful and kind especially the main lady who met me to check in and Suzette who helped me in the evenings with food. Can’t say enough about the beauty of the property.
I was surprised to find out about food not being served except for breakfast. I understand it was in the important information but not sure when that was updated. In the event that someone is a solo traveller without a car like myself there should have been a shuttle or some sort of support in eating outside the hotel especially as it was difficult to walk to and from the property. The staff tried to help which I’m grateful for but I wasn’t able to relax as much due to this problem.

Lovely pool area, friendly staff, good breakfast
The hotel is perfect for those with a car. It is quite high up in the hills (beautiful location). No problem with a hire car. If you don’t have a car, pre-book taxis as the all seem to come from Funchal and are hard to get on demand especially if after 9pm

The idea of an old Villa is pretty nice. They hat some nice furniture and decorations.
There were a lot of things that were old per se. ( the floor in our room was broken)
A bottle of water costed 4€, we had an empty mini fridge.
The breakfast was pretty poor, considering the price per night, it was exactly the same every day, and 3 days they didn’t had any yogurt (that was 30% of the breakfast, with different toppings)
