Nicky the host was very welcoming and friendly. The cottage has been very nicely converted and is very comfortable.
The location is great for Hay on W ye and the Brecons

Cosy, well appointed stay. Welcoming for us- tea/coffee/milk and biscuits were a godsend after quite a long drive. Welcoming for our dog too, who had ample supply of towels and blankets to keep him warm and dry.
Kitchen had enough equipment to make a basic meal, and sitting area enough furniture to sit & dine on.

We stayed for 2 nights as a base at Badgers Den to attend a dog show in Buith Wells and wish we could of stayed longer. It is absolutely perfect and you could comfortably stay for a month.
On arrival the hosts greeted us and were so friendly and welcoming and did everything to accommodate our needs for setting up a pen for our dogs. They are so dog friendly with even clean dog towels in a storage box outside if you need them.
Inside is absolutely spotless with everything you could need, even a torch which came in handy for taking dogs out at night. There was plenty of cooking and serving equipment in the cupboards even tin foil and clingfilm. The bathroom is fantastic with a large wetroom area not your usual shower cubicle. The bed can either be 2 singles or a large double and was comfortable.
There are seats outside the cottage and also under a covered area where you can have a glass of wine (or 2) and watch the sheep in the fields.
I thoroughly recommend badgers den or gooses roost if you want a nice relaxing self catering break.
I will definitely return if staying in the area again.
