My stay at Penhallow was only meant to be one night, but I ended up staying for three and I would have stayed even longer if I’d had the time!
Waking up in the pod to the sound of songbirds was beautiful, and hearing the tawny owls calling into the night made the whole experience feel really special. I felt genuinely connected to nature and it was exactly the kind of place you don’t want to leave.
Rich and his colleagues are always on hand to answer any questions and make you feel welcome, almost like you’re being welcomed into their own home and estate.
I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’ll definitely be coming back!!

The atmosphere was great. The breakfast as well especially for the price. Very cozy.
We lived in a tent and the walls were all moldy. That made the stay very uncomfortable especially if you are sensitive to that.

The remote location was fantastic - quiet and peaceful, but easy to access with easy parking. We really enjoyed the breakfast room as a useful communal space. The local village had a great pub too. Great value, lovely hosts - we really enjoyed our stay.

The owners were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast room for tea,coffee etc open 24hrs
Site needs quite a lot of maintenance, overgrown, untidy, outside bar/seating area unusable.
