Great location, just steps away from everything in “downtown” Avila Beach. Clean and spacious. Prompt replies from property manager. The only concern was the lack of a thermostat. Heat comes from two wall mounted gas fireplaces.

Great Location with about a 1 to 2 minute walk from the front the door to the beach. Condo was nice, but there were some minor issues. The couch was stained and torn. When I rent a place for over 2000 dollars a week, I expect the furniture to be in good condition. The sofa sleeper in the torn couch was also damaged. It was completely bottomed out and not super stable which also lent to it not being super comfortable. I get it, its a sleeper sofa, but if you advertise it as part of the rental, it should be in good working order. General cleanliness was good, but the deck was a bit dirty, there were someones old gross sandals under the bed and there was mold in the washing machine, which we wanted to use, but couldn't due to this. Additionally, the master screen door kept coming off the rails everytime we tried to slide it. Again these are relatively minor gripes, but for the price, they should be addressed. Overall, generally satisfied with the stay.

Great spot with all we needed for our annual Avila Beach trip. It was a hot weekend and AC would be great in living room, but manageable with fans. Bedroom had great breeze and slept well.

Nicely updated, well located and spacious flat with great kitchen, bathrooms and comfortable bed. A block away from the beach, and right behind Avila Grocery, which does generate a bit of noise. I hope to return again.

This rental was perfect for a week of remote work while I moved my son into Cal Poly. The "Boathouse" was clean, had everything I needed, and was close to shops and dining in Avila. I will definitely be back!

We had the best time in Avila staying at the Boathouse! We are already scheduled to return in October. Love the cleanliness of the unit upon arrival, plenty of basics for an enjoyable stay, patio furniture and fire pit is nice for relaxing evenings, LOVED the soft water. Couches could use a deep cleaning, but other than that, perfection!

359 front road is a gem of a place to stay. perfect for a couple with occasional guests. the unit is well designed, comfortable and well appointed. the only drawback is the construction next door which will box the unit in and destroy limited views

A very comfortable, clean condo that worked well for four people. The 1 1/2 baths was very practical and allowed plenty of space for everyone to get ready. No fighting over use of the bathroom, even with teenage girls! The master bed and the hide-a-bed were both very comfortable. The parking space under the unit was also very convenient and we could keep our beach chairs and boogie boards in the car rather than lugging them up to the unit. Great expansive deck space! I will definitely stay here again.

I was here long term (2 months) and really enjoyed the Boathouse. Although I prefer Pismo for what it has to offer we tried Avila this time, and the Boathouse was offered to us at a discount. Very high quality lodging, every thing you need is provided. You will not be disappointed. I had an issue with the water heater and CVR took care of it immediately. Great management company. I have used CVR since a bad experience with their competition in 2015 and would not think of using any other vacation rental provider. Awesome people that manage quality rentals.

Love the location! Very disappointed in kitchen. The stove did not work and selection of dishes/glasses left much to be desired. The lighter for the bbq did not work. I would only recommend this property if someone wanted to bring their own dishes and did not want to cook.

Lovely Condo, Great Location, Needs to be Cleaned

My family and I have stayed at this condo twice. The location is fantastic and the condo itself is lovely. The furnishings are comfortable and nice. The only drawbacks have been the parking, the stairs into the unit, the cleanliness of the floors and the check in/our process. The parking spot is very small and this visit, neighbors had blocked the designated spot. With 2 small kids, it was very frustrating to have to go find someone to come and move their car. When we parked, if there was a car next to us, we could not open the doors enough to get the kids out of their carseats. There are steep concrete stairs to get up to the unit- also a challenge with small kids, strollers and all of our gear. It's do-able, but just takes some planning. This trip, the towels were not great quality and the floors were very dirty. We have an infant who is crawling, and after a few minutes exploring the place, his knees and hands were literally black. The floors clearly has not been mopped for some time, and this made me concerned for the cleanliness of the other parts of the condo- all the places where my kids might touch or climb. This was incredibly disappointing, especially since the management company charges a $50 cleaning fee. When added to the rental fee and the booking fee, it becomes fairly expensive to stay here and for the cost, I would expect it to be clean. It's also a hassle to drive down into Pismo to pick up keys- especially during high traffic times. If you are coming from the north, you have to drive about 10 minutes south, navigate traffic on the freeway and in town, and then drive back up north and into Avila. It would be nice to be able to pick up keys in Avila beach itself. You also have to do the same thing upon checking out. The 25 or so extra minutes adds up on a long car ride with small kids. I would suggest keeping all of these extra time consuming pieces in mind when looking at options and factoring that in to the cost.

The condo has a nice layout and is a great place to stay - convenient to the beach and town. One big problem: The outdoor patio area was very dirty. It is in serious need of a pressure wash. Again - the inside is great - Its like the outside has been completely forgotten.

The units surroundings totally changed since our reservation 7 months earlier. Any ocean view was taken away by a complex under construction along with the noise and lack of privacy. We were never advised of the changes. The owner of coastal vacation has always been wonderful to work with, staf was disappointing

This is a gorgeous beach house. Has every amenity including a gas fireplace in both the bedroom and the living room. Gourmet kitchen with everything you need. Nice washer/dryer combo in the unit. Surround sound speakers that even go outside on the wrap around deck. I highly recommend this lovely home!

This was our second stay at the "Boathouse". The exterior picture does not do it justice. The inside is clean, cute and comfortable. We enjoy the quick walk to the beach and the convenience of being so close to the Front St shops and restaurants. We will be staying again in the future.

Unit #359 is spacious, decent cooking utensils & pans, firm mattress in master bedroom (which we like). Unit doesn’t have a/c, and we were there when there was a heat wave. Fireplace inserts even when off still radiated heat. View from from front door & below was a construction site. Directly below balcony was a dumpster & trash from the Avila Market. You have a narrow ocean view on the outside, on one side of the unit. You can’t change the fan speed on the master bedroom ceiling fan. Parking is tight.

Magic Location!

Magic Location!

Wonderful location within a minute's walk to the beach, couldn't be closer to the main strip's stores and restaurants. Property is quiet - doesn't share any walls with other property - clean, and well provisioned. Only small complaint was that a bolt fell out of the sofa bed when we were on it and it collapsed, but it was easily fixed. Would definitely recommend and will likely go back ourselves!

The property management company, on the other hand, I would not recommend. Woman at the office was rude when I noted that we had left two messages for them in the days prior about an early check in, something we had confirmed months earlier when making the booking.
