Alloggi Barbaria is 10 minutes' walk from St. Mark's Square. It is ideal for visiting Venice Lagoon's islands at only 1476 feet from the Fondamenta Nuove dock. Breakfast is served on the terrace in summer.

Location. While walking distance to everything, it is away from the busy section, and so is quiet.
Breakfast: basic. Continental, in short. For me it was quite enough. Some would probably prefer more substantial meal.
Room: no less spacious than in more expensive and upscale places in other cities. Clean. Good AC. Shower stall is small but no smaller than in more upscale hotels during this trip.
Staff: very friendly and helpful. In fact the manager recognized me after 7 years (This is my second time here).
Few minor improvements could be made.
One: I am not a fan of using shower gel instead of soap, but when the gel comes in a small pack instead of a bottle mount to the cabin (in a holder), this is less convenient.
Two: the hair dryer is...inefficient.

Amazing location, 1 min from Ospedale vaporetto, 20 min from Piazzale Roma. 15 min walk to the centre of Venice.
Very attentive staff , quick reply to messages, good service.
Clean room, has all what you need for your holiday: fridge, kettle, bathroom accessories. Very good mattress, my back said thank you)

The breakfast coffee was a desaster. Instant coffee was not what was expected. The whole breakfast buffet was rather disappointing though the ham and the Yoghurt from Sterzing was ok.
