Lovely hotel, great bus service to Edinburgh. Lovely food and staff and so much more value for money than staying in Edinburgh during peak times such as the festival or when the Six Nations Rugby is on and the prices on the city centre double!

The property is lovely, with a nice bar area, and the bedding is very comfortable.
Breakfast was good, with a vegan option, and the staff was nice.
The castle could be better maintained, as there were exposed electrical wires in the room, which could be dangerous. The bathroom was also very basic, and for the price of €415 (night + breakfast), I have to admit that I was expecting better. The food at dinner was bland, with not much taste in either the risotto or the truffle tagliatelle. To finish, I was a bit surprised to be asked for a print of my debit card for a room that I had already paid for (but that could be their normal procedure).
