The hotel has a character, the common areas are decorated with vintage furniture. The building is located right at the beach, that couldn't be any closer. It is rocky rather than sandy, but it is beautiful and not dangerous. The hotel also has a pool with sea water which is VERY warm, loved it. There were also enough sunbeds for all. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the Australian lady at the reception. Our room was spacious, modern and with a small balcony.
If you are coming by bus from Catania, then it is still a 25 minutes walk from the bus stop to the hotel (better to take a taxi). Also, if you want to go to Taormina by taxi, Uber is not the best option, they often cancel and don't come, it is better to ask the hotel to book a taxi for you. Usually it was coming within 5-10 minutes, but on Saturday evening we had to wait for more than 30 minutes as there were no taxies around.
There were some strange rules we didn't understand. For example, you can drink coffee outside on the terrace but you can't eat there the food you ordered; you can ask for hot water to have tea but only in your room rather than in any other area; you can't ask for the bottle opener at the restaurant to open your own wine.

Frühstück war solide für den Preis gut. Lage war sehr abgelegen dadurch zwar ruhiger aber weite Wege. Nach 7 Tagen hat man an der Promenade alles gesehen.
Das erste Zimmer war im 3. Stock und die Badezimmerabflüße haben unangenehm gerochen. Haben darauf hin ein super neues Zimmer im EG bekommen. Der Pool ist schon sehr renovierungsbedürftig. Die Folierungen lösen sich und schwimmen im Wasser, teilweise Inventar abgebrochen. Das Meer aber direkt vor der Tür und hervorragend zum Schnorcheln geeignet. Aber kein Strand dafür Lavaküste.
