Ocean- less than a 20 sec walking to the beach

The Location was just perfect, less than a 20 sec walking to the beach and the staff is so so friendly and accommodating! The breakfast is also super delicious, and if you need extra food the prices are very good as well. Our room was brand new with all fresh furniture and decorations. Beautiful moon. Tasty cocktails. Happy with my choice.

Terrible

The chef and the food are the only good things in the hotel

Trust me, do not get deceived by the rating on booking.com as I did It was the worst and dirtiest hotel I have ever been in my life… The hotel is right next to the water but the beach is filthy, rocky and water is still. It’s actually not even a beach but a reef. 10 minutes away from Pongwe The room and the bathroom were left wet for hours after cleaning. The bathroom has smell of the fishes and no divider between the toilet and shower. At night the room and the bathroom were filled with BUGS! I had to think twice before using the bathroom The pool water was dirty. There is no other restaurants at a walking distance. Basically you are in the middle of nowhere with no beach and with the worst facilities. If you are coming to Zanzibar for a week, just spend your time in Nungwi and Kendwa. Don’t come on this side. I wish someone has advised me this also

Special vibes

Thank you Z-Lodge Hotel for a special vibe and excursion experiences in Zanzibar - it was unforgettable and very emotional stay. Lack of ocean during tides did disturb me before coming, but 2-3 hours of high tide time was enough to swim in the ocean every day. Delicious dishes and cocktails at the restaurant was very important part of vocation. Shortly- Happy with my choice.

Peaceful and beautiful lodge

Really friendly and helpful staff, we got warm welcome. Clean facilities and beautiful design, we stayed during few weeks in different rooms and each was great with handmade furniture. Food was delicious and various, every one can find something for themselves. Truly recommend staying here!

Amazing lodge in the east coast of Zanzibar

It was not crowded, clean, spacious, staff was very friendly and helpful, food was amazing! Atmosphere was very peaceful and comfortable

Water was not working perfectly, WiFi didn’t reach our room all the time, due to the season the beach was full of algae.

Little heaven on earth.

The granola, the wall paintings in room 12. The people at the property led by Dida, Asia and young man at the bar. They made our stay a remarkable one. We will definetly come back again🤟

Дуже сподобався відпочинок в готелі. Дуже Приємний персонал та Смачна кухня. Гарній ресторан на окремому пірсі з чудовим краєвидом та світанковим сонцем. У нас був величезний номер мебльований в еко стилі з дерева відпрацьованих човнів. Знайшли готель через Інстаграм - багато корисної інформації, окрім фото готелю. Рекомендую та хвалю. Додам - ще там круті коктейлі.

A perfect blend of adventure and luxury nature

Our time in Zanzibar was an adventure from start to finish! hotel room was a serene haven, with natural furnishings and charming artwork that made us feel right at home. Days were spent exploring the wonders of Kiwengwa reef on a captivating tour. Snorkeling amidst vibrant starfish and colorful reef fish was an experience we'll never forget. And let's not forget the thrill of fishing on a local boat! The excitement of reeling in our catch combined with the stunning coastal views made for an unforgettable day. Evenings were reserved for dining at the ocean pier restaurant, where the food rivaled Michelin star quality. Z-Lodge provided the perfect blend of adventure and luxury nature, leaving us with memories to cherish forever.

Very good.

Very nice accommodation, nice place close the ocean. Very tasty and big breakfast (no.1 in Zanzibar).

Only the ocean is not for swimming.

beauty of the natural materials and nature

Wow! Our stay at Z-Lodge was absolutely incredible.Room: beauty of the natural materials used in the furniture and the lovely paintings on the walls. Garden, 2 pools, ocean cliffs- It was like paradise. But the real highlight was definitely the restaurant on the ocean pier. The food was out of this world, and the views were breathtaking. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will be happy to plan our next visit!

Hi there! We're family of 2 and our furry friend, Max. We recently had the most wonderful time at Z-Lodge Zanzibar Hotel! The room with boat wood furniture and decorations was so cozy. And they kept it super clean every day, which was a nice touch. The food was delicious, and they had something for everyone. Plus, they were pet-friendly, so Max had a blast too! We went on an awesome excursion, exploring some cool spots in Zanzibar and experiencing the local culture. We also received some souvenirs from hotel while checking out- a pleasant surprise. Avo burger was amazing

Our staying at Z-lodge Zanzibar was absolutely worth money&value&experience. The hotel is situated in an idyllic location, with stunning views from the restaurant's deck. The restaurant itself was a highlight of the trip, serving up some of the tastiest avocado bun burgers I've ever had. What really sets Z-lodge apart, however, is the cool breeze that kept the temperature comfortable throughout my stay. This was a welcome respite from the heat I experienced at other places in Zanzibar. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful and comfortable stay in Zanzibar. The restaurant is not to be missed, and the cool breeze makes for a truly relaxing vacation.

I wanted to steal their Spa therapist

When checked in we had coconut water with a hibiscus flower as a welcome drink- perfect tropical idea to great the guests. We received complimentary massage as well and used it the same day -Jackie was awesome and we had more massages with her- God bless those hands)). Food- no complaints, only compliments- all was highest quality and presentation. Greetings to Mariam and Sammy and special recommendation - Pina Colada - it is different in a good way - full of flavours and rich taste. Room- big, all natural wood, simple, but nice touches and loved the painting.

Beach Holidays in Zanzibar.

We loved the presentation of the food, the location is central so all areas is accesible from here. The beach was nice and private, we were feasting on fresh fruits everyday, highly recommend the seafood soup, and super nice staff all the time. `The rooms are Seaview and with a large restaurant deck over the water. Thank you Z-lodge crew.

Setting/location - beach a bit rocky

Rather noisy if you stay near the kitchen - I think 5 star rating is a bit exaggerated! The site suffers from having contractors on site building some extra rooms. Pathways could benefit from upgrades along with a back up generator to cover all too frequent power outages!

Вместо нормальных номеров-веранда. Утром по крыше бегают крысы в ужасающем количестве. Я заказывала такси,ждала,таксист себя никак не обозначил, говорит ,что был около гостиницы,но не подавал никаких признаков жизни. Заказала другое такси,приехала в отель,мне говорят,что я должна заплатить за такси,потому что водитель меня поехал встречать,но никому ничего не сказал,даже не знаю,правда это или нет! Заставили заплатить за такси дважды! Ужас ужасный! Никому не советую это место

Le cadre et l’environnement sont exceptionnels. Le personnel est toujours souriant et aux petits soins pour nous. Dida et Emmy ont été d’une gentillesse et d’un professionnalisme exemplaires ! Le restaurant est top!

C’est vraiment le personnel, et d’une manière générale, tous les tanzanien qui rendent le séjour très agréable

Le personnel était vraiment super, très serviable très à l’écoute.

Ce n’est pas la plus jolie partie de la côte, effectivement on ne peut pas se baigner à marée basse et il y a quelques algues

Positive memories

We came to stay 1 night and stayed longer because the vibe was so peaceful and breakfasts with sunrises were too tasty. We love pastry and here it was every day different and homemade like from mother's oven. We had big and clean room without ocean view but the ocean is just few steps from any place in the hotel. Small galago were coming every evening to check if there are bananas for them - some treats from the kitchen- lovely.
