Great location, in the heart of Beppu this property punches above its weight! The lobby is super impressive and the rooms spacious and comfortable. The highlight for us was the Onsen which was super relaxing (just plan your visit as it can be quite busy) The rooftop pool was good and the gym well-equipped.

Breakfast and location near Beppu station.
The spa area is not monitored by staff and the changing room is connected to the roof top pool area therefore shared by the swimmers who came into the bathing tub with their swimsuits. Not to mention they were dripping everywhere in the changing room. It made it a very gross experience when we went in to bathe. The floor was unclean and unmonitored guests’ behaviors were inexcusable. .

This was a very nice hotel on the surface. However as others have said the rooftop bar that us advertised widely throughout the hotel was not open and although the pool is beautiful there is no shade from the extreme heat so it’s not really usable. The breakfast was good and the staff were fine. Our room unfortunately smelled very, very damp. It was like it may have had a leak? I didn’t mention it at the time because we were only there for the night and the smell was alleviated somewhat by the dehumidifier. All in all this is a nice, well located hotel that is just missing a little attention to detail.
They could have been factual about the pool bar being closed.
