Located in Iowa, this attractive house for $195 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat in a quiet and family-oriented neighborhood, this is the perfect home for you. This home backs up to the lake and public docks. Home sits in a remote community with access to a 480-acre lake great for pan/bass/walleye fishing during any season. Walk down to the lake, public docks, or 13 mile trail right from the backyard. Amenities include a pool, golf course, basketball court, gym, scenic 13-mile trail for running/walking/snow shoes/cross country skiing, tennis courts, relax at the beach, or enjoy lakefront dining. This home is in close proximity to the Apple River State Park or Galena where you can shop, relax at a day spa, or visit a local winery. Home has a backyard built-in fire pit, supplied wood, lawn chairs, board games, toys, foosball, air hockey, and corn hole. Towels, linins, cookware, grill, silverware, dishes, pack n play, high chair, fishing poles, all included, just pack your food/bags, and enjoy this peaceful, family retreat. There are 4 total bedrooms. 3 bedrooms with queen size beds and 1 additional room with 4 single beds (bunkbed style for kids.) There's a bathroom off of the master bedroom, a common bathroom on the main floor, and another full size bath in the lower level next to the 3rd bedroom. We have high speed, 5G, internet access and Roku, Netflix, and YouTube for additional entertainment. This home is in a great location and within walking distance to all amenities offered at Apple Canyon. Out of respect for our neighbors, we discourage bachelor and bachelorette parties. Driveway parking available and we ask no more than three vehicles please.

We stayed here over the New Years' weekend and we all kept finding helpful items and thoughtful touches everywhere! From toothbrushes, floss, qtips, shampoo/cond/body wash in each shower to books, puzzles, movies, highchair, pack-n-play ... the hosts thought of everything and it was so easy to stay here! Our kids could have played in the basement all weekend long (air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, etc) but we also had a wonderful time exploring main street Galena and enjoying a day at Chestnut Mountain Resort. Our host was communicative and generous, offering an early check-in and late check-out since there was an open calendar around the holiday. Highly recommend!

My siblings and I and our families met up over Thanksgiving. This place was so well equipped with it everything that we needed! There were so many different areas for adults and kids to be, And Foos ball, air hockey, and shuffleboard. We all thought it was better than the pictures!We enjoyed playing in the big outdoor yard and walking along the lake.

My family of 4 and my best friends family of 4 stayed at this property for a weekend to attend a wedding in the area. The entire stay was fantastic. The house was clean and had even more space than we expected. There were things for the kids to do. The owner provided so many little extras that made staying at the house better. All of the communication I had with Jim was fantastic, he was very helpful and cheerful. It was far and a way the best rental experience i have had.

We had a great time with our adult children. The house worked out great for us. Lots of activities at the house and in the area. We rented Jim's boat and had a beautiful day on the lake. The marina, pool, golf course are all very nice. They have all the lake toys available. Would definitely come back.

Home was large enough to accommodate all 10 of us. Beautiful area, hiking, walks, pool and beach. Winding country roads to Galena IL. Great kitchen with everything we needed.Grilled out, sat on the patio until the bugs came out. Watched movies and played games. Great place for us all to gather.

WE loved this property. It was the best place to be with our family celebrating a belated Christmas. The house was perfect: the view, the accommodations, full kitchen. comfortable beds, plenty of room and more. We loved the drive into Galena and skiing at Chestnut Mountain. A great place to be summer or winter. Beautiful country side. Wonderful host.

We were attending a wedding at Council Hill Station and decided to make it a family long weekend. We are glad we did, this place is amazing, the leaves had turned colors so the view was beautiful and the walking trail was great. Our kids enjoyed the firepit out back and we had plenty of space in this beautiful home for all of us and 2 little ones. Jim is a great host and we plan to return when it is warm out so we can enjoy the lake:)

Host is extremely kind, helpful and communicative and really made sure that our stay was extraordinary! From unexpected early check in to the last day, we have nothing but great memories from our stay. The home, property, lake and entire Apple Canyon area is beautiful and theres tons to do!! We had a lovely time boating, fishing and golfing, then visited the waterfall and ended our afternoons at the pool. Everything you could need is already here and if you have kids they will love the downstairs!! So many great memories made this weekend....looking forward to a future visit!

Stress free environment on a beautiful property. Each room was as cozy and inviting, including an updated, beautiful kitchen where all appliances were in working order. Perfect place for multi-family stay. We hope to return when we have time to enjoy the home/yard instead of a place to rest between wedding events.
