About this cabin rental

Located in Estes Park, this attractive cabin for $184 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Soak in a century of history in this 1927 cabin originally located inside of Rocky Mountain National Park (County STR Permit 20-NCD0218). My home was moved from Moraine Park to its current location, and you can now enjoy a wood stove in the tin-ceilinged living room, have an evening dinner in the private yard, or just relax in peace. + 5 mins to Rocky Mountain National Park. + 600 Mbps Internet for staycations, washer/dryer, stocked kitchen, sleeps 6. Note that there are two other vacation rentals on my 1 acre property. Real quick, some house rules (sorry it's no fun, but please read!!) + The property is more than an acre and there are three short term rentals on it. You will have neighbors, but this home is all yours (and the fence separates the spaces) + Understand that parts of the yard are recovering from machinery used to install a new privacy fence. A larger landscaping project will happen in mid-June (calendar will be closed) + No early check in or late checkouts. + Check in is 4pm or later; check out is 10am or earlier. + No smoking inside or out; no fire pits; no parties; no pets. + 2 cars & 6 guests max per legal limit. + At checkout, you must do dishes and start a load of towels/hand towels/washcloths (we have negotiated a lower cleaning fee based on this). + No cable -- bring your own streaming accounts for the smart TV. Onward! Thanks for checking out the historic 1927 Alpine Garden Cabin. Located in the shadows of Prospect and Giant Track Mountains with views into the National Park and Twin Sisters Peaks, it's about 5 minutes from the entry gate to Rocky Mountain National Park, 5 minutes from downtown Estes Park, and just seconds away from my favorite restaurant and local supermarket. This unique cabin originally sat inside the National Park, in Moraine Park, and was eventually moved to its current site. If you stay here, you'll be staying in a museum that's been slowly and gradually added to over the years. During the most recent updates, I added some fun touches: coffee tables and shelving I hand-made from local reclaimed wood, and funky hanging lamps I made out of whiskey bottles that I upcycled from my favorite local restaurant, Bird and Jim (just down the street). I also added a new privacy fence to and opened up the back yard so you can enjoy afternoon meals or glasses of wine and feel alone. The inside is super unique: there's a historic wood stove, tin ceiling in the living room, and fun 1950s lime green paint in the fully stocked kitchen. It's got everything you need to help you feel at home during your Estes Park vacation. Enjoy the wood burning stove in the historic living room, or just kick back in front of a smart TV (on top of another fireplace) and zone out. This is a brand new listing for me, but I am a long time Superhost with nearly 1700 rave reviews at my other places. Past guests at my other listing have written: "... communication with Nathan was very clear and responsive!" "... Beautifully decorated with Nathan's personal touches and his photography captures his passion for nature and breathtaking scenery!" "... The communication with Nathan was great and everything was wonderful.." "... Really cool experience and great customer service from Nathan and team." ***** IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE ***** My 1-acre property has three short term rentals on it: this home and two other cabins. Each one has its own private parking and living spaces; the only shared area is the driveway. Guests must be respectful of the parking and noise situations. If you are looking for isolation in the woods, this is not your best bet. ********************************************* BEDROOMS The home has two bedrooms and has a maximum legal occupancy of six. Bedroom 1 - A master bedroom with en-suite bathroom sits off the kitchen, removed from the living room. It's got an amazingly comfortable king bed and a walk in shower. Note that the pellet stove in this room is NOT FOR GUEST USE. It is nevertheless heated with central heat. Bedroom 2 - The original and historic bedroom, sitting off the living room and attached to a bathroom. Featuring a comfortable queen bed and lots of wood walls for the cozy feel. Bedroom 3 - We offer a pull out sofa bed for extra guests, for a max of six. BATHROOMS Bathroom 1 - An en-suite bathroom off the master bedroom, with a sink, toilet and walk-in shower. Bathroom 2 - Part of the original cabin, with an antique clawfoot tub located off the living room. LIVING & ENTERTAINMENT Living Room - Enjoy games and movies on your own streaming accounts with a smart Roku TV, relax in the comfortable couches in front of the wood burning stove, or simply turn it all off and try to imagine living in this home when it was originally built 100 years ago. WiFi - My home now has a strong mesh WiFi network with no dead zones. A 600Mbps connection will allow you to stream and work. LAUNDRY, COOKING, DINING Kitchen - The funky lime green kitchen is fully stocked with a fridge, freezer, oven, stove, new pots and pans, lots of cutlery, wine glasses, a drip coffee maker, and much, much more. In it is a full size washer and dryer that you can use for free. ESTES PARK'S MANY AWARDS Estes has become an awesome year-round destination over the last five years. In fact, a few years ago the town was named to more than 50 lists of Best, Favorite and Top Destinations. Here are a select few: - Best Mountain Town - Sunset Magazine - Top-Rated Vacation Destinations in North America - Expedia - America's Most Scenic Roads - Travel + Leisure Magazine - Top 20 Mountain Trips - Sunset Magazine - America's 15 Most Romantic Cities for Winter Travel - Trip Advisor - 10 U.S. Places To Travel Before They Get Famous - Huffington Post - The Ten Most Beautiful Towns in CO - TheCultureTrip.com - The Most Romantic Weekend Getaway in Every State - Thrillist.com - 50 Small Towns Across America with the Most Beautiful Fall Foliage - Country Living - The 15 Most Beautiful Spots in CO - TheCrazyTourist.com - Best Towns in Colorado - Niche - Top 10 Adult Spring Break Destinations in America Revealed - World Property Journal Here's what National Geographic Magazine wrote out our little slice of paradise: "Rising up along the Continental Divide, Rocky Mountain National Park is a natural overachiever, with 77 mountains above 12,000 feet—including 14,259-foot Longs Peak—and a span of alpine tundra. Snow-packed granite peaks tower over a calm of ponderosa pines, which ease toward meadow and meandering stream—four ecosystems within one park. It’d be simple to cover them all on a drive along scenic Trail Ridge Road, but why not channel Enos Mills and hike some of the 355 miles of trails instead? You might hear elk bugling or spy otters swimming among lily pads." This is a fully furnished, private home. You have full access to: + 2 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms + private parking + private yard and outdoor dining area + kitchen/dining and living areas I own a small rental management company in town and have a great team of house managers, so either myself or one of them will be readily available to answer any and all questions. My neighborhood is a typical Estes Park rural residential neighborhood, where you can see mountains all around but there are also neighbors. My property is a little over an acre and this unit has an effective privacy fence so all the outdoor area feels private and "all yours." There are neighbors and I ask that guest are respectful of them, self-monitor their noise levels, and do not trespass on their land. This property is about a 15 minute walk to the Country Super Market (downhill there, uphill back), where you can hop on the free summer shuttle bus that goes all over Estes Park and takes you to the Rocky Mountain National Park visitor center, and from there you can hop on a shuttle that goes into the National Park. However, you really need to have your own car when visiting Estes Park. There are not reliable Ubers/Lyfts and the taxis are few and far between. NOISE Events, loud music and noises, and parties are strictly prohibited. Please be respectful of your noise level so I can maintain good relationships with my neighbors. Note that my property has two other short term rentals on it; treat our neighbors like you'd want to be treated. The house will likely be equipped with NoiseAware or Minut when you arrive, which measures sound levels and alerts us if things are too loud so I can give you a heads up. It does not record content, it only measures decibel levels so your privacy is 100% guaranteed. Guests are not to unplug it (we will also be alerted if that happens). NONPAYING GUESTS Insurance requires that nonpaying and non-registered guests are not allowed on property. AIR CONDITIONER Estes has a mild mountain climate in the summers but from time to time it can get hot. Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. The cool evening breeze will cool the home down quickly.
