The Roost was a cute, cozy, and well appointed cottage that was perfect for my husband, our dog, and me. Being right next to The Southener is a huge bonus! And we loved the heated bathroom floor! We’ll be back to use the great outdoor space when it’s warmer. And we already recommended it to our son-in-law and he booked it. Thank you, Amy, for such a great experience!

We absolutely loved the Roost! It had everything we needed for our little get away. It was clean, cute, and comfortable. We loved that it was next to the Southerner. We did not have any issues with noise or lights. Would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in the Saugatuck area. Also, try the Southerner. The food was great.

Nice small and cozy cabin. My wife and I drove from Chicago and left much later than anticipated, arriving at the cottage after midnight. We prepared some food groceries that we had brought. Very convenient stock of pots and pans and cooking utensils. The cottage was warm and well lit. Where we had issues was with the cleanliness of the bedding. Fortunately, there was a small washer and dryer with a stock of cleaning supplies on the premises which permitted us to wash the bed linens and bed spread covering. We did manage to have a pleasant stay despite this and reported the incident to the owner.

This was a great place for our weekend getaway! Perfect size for a single person or a couple, and a beautiful location on the marina. A quick walk to downtown Saugatuck and it’s scenic waterfront, art shops, boutiques, and restaurants. The stay itself has modern amenities, good lighting, a comfy bed, and a kitchen perfect for coffee or simple meals. The only drawback to the house is noise and light pollution at night from the Southerner restaurant next door.

The cottage was exactly as described. Cute & cozy. Amy was quick to respond to a few concerns we had. Try the Southerner (next door), but plan ahead because it can be a long wait or order your food online (that's what we did) and bring it back to the cottage. You won't be disappointed.

We loved our weekend stay at The Roost! The cottage is the perfect size for two and had all the amenities of home. The decor is darling and every corner of the cottage is a well-planned use of space. It’s located steps from The Southerner (a must for us when we visit Saugatuck) and a few blocks from town. Very clean and quiet and the owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We’ll definitely stay again!

Spent a very comfortable and cozy long weekend with my dog here. At first glance pulling in I felt it was in a parking lot (didn’t Google map it) BUT, don’t judge! It’s quiet and lovely. Sat outside with a glass of wine. Quick walk to town and you get some steps in. I didn’t try the Southerner restaurant but people rave about it. It’s pretty quiet and closes down relatively early. The cottage is clean, comfy bed, used the oven, clean bathroom. Come and try it out for yourself!!

We needed a large dog-friendly place near the venue my daughter was getting married at this weekend (9/23/23--and if anyone happens to be looking, I HIGHLY recommend the Saugatuck Center for the Arts as a venue for your next event) and The Roost was perfect. It's a two minute (literally) drive to downtown. I did worry about being in the same parking lot as the very popular/busy Southerner restaurant when we first arrived but not even my noise-sensitive dog was bothered by it. It was seriously a non-issue. But my absolute favorite part next to the beautiful kitchen was the heated floor in the bathroom. Loved it. If we ever happen to be back in the area, we'll definitely do our best to book The Roost again.

All the reviews were very good and so I expected good things and this place was that. Very clean, very cute. A friend met me and I brought my dog, and everyone was happy. The only down part was. Gave the friend the bedroom and I slept on the pull out. The only down side to the whole thing.

Great location for a short walk to town and a great size for just a couple and infant. The dedicated parking spot is a great perk and although close to the restaurant, we had no issues with noise!

Well decorated, clean cottage. A Well equipped, modern kitchen and living room with comfortable bedroom. Bathroom is small but manageable. We were not happy with being directly next to restaurant and no view of Kalamazoo river. The price was a little high.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It is literally right next-door to the Southerner restaurant, but I did not notice much of the restaurant noise at all. It was actually quite quiet inside, which was great for our dog, as she did not get too bothered by the outdoor noise. The cottage itself was comfortable and clean, and was the perfect size for two of us and our dog. It was an easy walk into town, so I didn’t mind being just outside the usual strip. Amy was very communicative and engaged. We’d be happy to stay here again in the future!

This cottage is perfectly situated just outside the hussle and bussle of downtown Saugatuck but within easy walking distance to it - literally 10-15 minutes depending on your pace. The walk is also mostly shaded which helps on hot days. The cottage is located right next to The Southerner restaurant that does not attract a rowdy crowd, in fact I never even heard the deliveries being made or the garage pick-ups, and I'm a light sleeper. A nice bonus is that if you do order takeout from them, they deliver right to the cottage. This cottage is well maintained and is totally adequate for up to four guests. The sofa bed was quite comfortable. Bed linens were clean, and the kitchen and bathroom appropriately stocked. There are two dedicated parking spaces In front of the cottage. There are also two outdoor seating spots where you can enjoy either more private outdoor dining or grilling, or watch the restaurant guests come and go. The host was super responsive to all our questions. We never met her personaly but there was no need since gaining access to and vacating were a breeze. This will be the cottage I return to for future stays in Saugatuck, so I highly recommend it.

We have stayed at many different places in Saugatuck. This place is now on the top of the favorites list! Very welcoming and cozy. Very clean and little extras that were great, from the coffee pot to the wine cooler! The outdoor barbecue area and sitting area are also great.

The cottage was very clean and cozy! Perfect distance from downtown to be quiet in the evening but a nice walk to and from. From the eco friendly dish and hand soap to the compostable trash bags, everything made the stay wonderful. We will definitely be staying here in the future!

The cottage is very nice. The distance to downtown is nice. The one draw back is navigating the parked cars from the restaurant to the parking for the cottage. The restaurant is very busy all day and evenings. Not alot of quiet time to sit outdoors. But, if you are out exploring the town most of the day and part of the evening then you won't notice it as much. I liled the keypad entry so you never have to worry about carrying a card or key.
