The beach is less than a mile away, while downtown New Buffalo offers various shopping and dining experiences. Two levels of comfortable spaces await at this lovely home - the screened porch may become your favorite spot to relax! Unwind next to the firepit in chilly weather, or cool down in the central air conditioning on sunny days. The cottage's open layout allows plenty of natural light to come inside. Amenities include a gas grill, a private washer/dryer, and incredibly fast WiFi to help with your remote work projects. The full kitchen features full-size appliances and equipment enough for enjoying delicious meals together. The richly decorated space allows for comfortable wind-downs and long conversations. A calm and peaceful holiday awaits you. THINGS TO KNOW Streaming is available using your own accounts. Many neighborhood beaches are closed due to the high water level in Lake Michigan. Please research the Michiana beach situation before booking. The metal spiral staircase is safe for guest use but may require monitoring with younger children (it is not suitable for play). Guests must travel by car to reach this cottage. The outdoor spaces and the three-seasons room may not be available or maintained during winter months. This property is managed by Vacasa Michigan LLC. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Security camera details: One Nest surveillance camera is installed on the home's front door, facing the driveway. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation. The minute we walked in, we could see and smell the cleanliness, nothing overpowering (because I have sensitivities), just smelled fresh! The cottage was stocked with everything we needed to cook, and very tastefully, I might add. We slept in the upstairs loft and the bed was amazingly comfortable, I have back issues and slept like a baby. The back deck and screened-in back area were an added bonus. The location is great, just a bike ride to the beach. We had a wonderful time and we will be back. Thank you Charlie!

Girls trip was a blast here. Everything you need including an ice maker, wine fridge, comfy beds, clean, and kitchen was well appointed. The pillows were lumpy, so pack your own. We were ok in the living room but would have preferred a more comfy couch. The weather was great so we enjoyed the patio. So close to so much (Warren Dunes, Three Oaks and Journeyman, and Red Arrow Roadhouse) that this is an ideal getaway. We’ll be back.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Charlie’s. It is a darling little home close to everything. We will definitely be booking again next year!
The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need, we loved that part usually when we stay in a VRBO the kitchen is lacking. That was not the case we made so awesome meals and enjoyed time with our friends.

Very peaceful. Close in proximity to New Buffalo public beach and Washington park beach. Walking distance to Michiana beach (saw beautiful sunsets). Well stocked kitchen, bathroom and linens. Perfect little getaway.

The house was adorable. Just how it looks in the pictures, with a well-stocked kitchen. The furnishings were lovely and it was roomy. The three-seasons porch was just adorable, with a lovely space heater it was wonderful to cuddle up in front of with a hot drink. (In the winter- it would be great in the summer, too.)
Our biggest complaint was the hot water. It would run hot for a minute or two but then turn lukewarm and then frigid cold in either shower.
The rest were small annoyances. The master bed rattled and clanged when we first sat on it, and we found the middle supporting legs were entirely disconnected- when we mentioned this to management, we were told it had apparently "always been that way". The electric to the porch was non-functional, and we had to trip the circuit to get it working again. Early in our visit we had to squash a large cockroach, though we only saw the one- it's clear they have been doing pest management, so hopefully the problem is well on it's way to being resolved.
The house would have also benefited from extra linens as it was quite cold, and the heat was set to drop down to 65 over night.
But overall, we had a nice stay. There were good restaurant options nearby, the bed was very comfortable (though the living room furniture was not), the yard was spacious- it's a lovely little get away, just needs a little work.

Winter Getaway
We wanted to have a nice quiet getaway. This was the perfect spot. The home was quite, cozy, and clean. It was an easy to walk few blocks from the lake. You could see deer in the yard at night or in the morning. I would recommend this to anyone and would rent it again.
