Chandys Drizzle Drops - Munnar Top Station

Very calm and quite place to spend a weekend. Rooms are neat and the food served at the restaurant is good.

The approach road to the resort is not in motorable condition for sedans. If the road could he maintained, it would be great.

Hiccup on certain items (club sandwich wasn’t a club sandwich ) would have liked the option of a set meal as solo guest . Only choice is full size dish . So couldn’t get veg / meat in one meal as too much food .

Amazing stay in the Western Ghats, with incredible views from the front of the room, and throughout the property. The facilities such as the infinity pool and the restaurant were all accessible. The room was clean and spacious, with a jacuzzi in the bathroom.

The wi-fi signal in the room was spotty and varied significantly depending of where I was standing/sitting.

The biggest selling point of Drizzle Drops is undoubtedly the location and scenery. The mountain views are spectacular and genuinely unique. At around 6,000 feet above sea level, the property has an incredible sense of peace and remoteness which is difficult to find elsewhere. The cleanliness was fantastic, and a special mention has to go to Abdul, who looked after our room. He cleaned it perfectly and took the time to make it feel really special for us. He also gave us a demonstration of his very impressive towel-art skills, which we thoroughly enjoyed. He is incredibly talented and a real asset to the Drizzle Drops team. We were also very well looked after by Francis and Harry during our meals. Both were hardworking, attentive and genuinely warm, and they took great pride in making sure we were fully catered for. Their hospitality made our stay feel much more special. Our bathroom was modern and exceptionally clean, with excellent water pressure and consistently hot water. The gardens and greenery are also beautifully maintained, and the evening campfire with music is a lovely touch. The views are the star of Drizzle Drops; Abdul, Francis and Harry were the stars of the service.

For the price and its positioning as a five-star property, we were disappointed by how limited the facilities actually were. Beyond enjoying the scenery, pool, garden and spa, there really isn't very much to do at the resort. If you are looking simply to switch off and admire the mountains, this may suit you perfectly, but anyone expecting a full five-star resort experience with a wide range of facilities and activities may find it lacking. We felt that considerably more could be offered to justify the price. We were particularly disappointed to discover that the infinity pool is not heated. The views from it are fantastic, but Munnar is naturally cool and windy, and the water was simply too cold for us to properly enjoy the pool. At a mountain resort of this standard, a heated pool would make an enormous difference. The food was above average, but we found it expensive for the quality and selection offered. We had significantly better meals elsewhere in Kerala for considerably less. There is also no bar, which guests should be aware of before booking. Another significant issue was the final access road to the resort. It is extremely steep and in sections did not feel like a properly surfaced road. We were fortunate to have a very experienced driver who handled it well, but we found the approach uncomfortable and concerning. For a property at this price point and standard, we believe the access should be improved as a priority, as this is a guest's first impression on arrival. Overall, the extraordinary location understandably commands a premium, but we felt we were primarily paying for the view rather than for a five-star resort experience. We are glad to have experienced the beautiful scenery, but considering the limited facilities, food pricing, unheated pool and difficult access, we did not feel the overall offering justified the price we paid.
