Things to Know The pool is open seasonally from April through mid-October. You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement. This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina, LLC. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

This was our 3rd time at MadJoy. We clearly love the house. With the only exception being all the stairs when the elevator is not functioning. Beach access is perfect.

Not kept up. Cabinets, counter tops falling apart. Air vents are dusty, rusty, moldy. Shower curtains mold, ceiling fans dusty. Carpet is gross. Sliding glass doors need replaced. Mattress are awful! Electrical outlet burnt. Downstairs carport needs cleaned up, weeds pulled around pool area. Pictures look like a well kept property, but it’s been run down, and for the price did not meet expectations.

*Decks or balconies off of every room in the house
*Great area and location near Rodanthe pier

*Elevator not in service (notified in advance)
*Couches and chairs filthy and stained
*Carpet and rugs in desperate need of cleaning
*Many mattresses need to be replaced
*Most kitchen dishes, utensils, and cookware were dirty and had to be rewashed before use
*Scum floating around water in hot tub (corrected during stay)
*Basic cable package with very limited channels available
*Several areas in the house are in poor condition and need attention (paint chipping on kitchen cabinets, counter tops falling apart, rusted microwave, broken rails on balcony, etc.)
While this property has the potential to be amazing, the lack of upkeep and cleanliness will unfortunately keep us from vacationing here again in the future.

Our family enjoyed the home overall, however EXTREMELY disappointed that the elevator was broken for the entire trip. Maintenance came couple times, it worked for 1 day and my daughter got stuck inside. Scary and disappointing for all 3 generations. Also, we understand the late check in but house not ready as promised by 1800 which is quite late already. Exhaust fans and some lights in bathrooms didn't work, and the ceiling fans, HVAC vents and even washer machine were quite dirty and under-kept. Ice machine downstairs didn't work and beware refrigerator must be shut tightly- doors stick open. Still overall grateful for location and stay.

Our family of 9 grew to ten so it was a bit tight but the proximity to the beach and the elevator made reserving it again a no brainer. Our girls are already talking about reserving it again next year!

The hot tub and pool were clean and ready to use when we arrived. The elevator was extremely convenient for loading/unloading our luggage (and on mornings after rambunctious nights)! The access to the beach was literally steps away from the house! The views of both the ocean (from the front) & sound (from the back) were indescribable! The only downside is there’s not many stores/shops in Rodanthe…but if you come prepared w/groceries or don’t mind driving 25 minutes north or south (which are beautiful drives), then you’ll be fine. The entire family wants to book this house again next year! Thank you Vacasa for an AMAZING vacation!
