The refreshing pool and pool bar are a relaxing spot to spend an afternoon in the sun. Hourly shuttle services are available to Old Town Key West. Other amenities include free WiFi, a fitness center, a business center, and bike rentals. PLEASE NOTE: - The resort fee is not included in the daily rate. A mandatory resort fee of $50.6/night per accommodation plus tax will be collected upon arrival. - The listings are distributed and managed by RoomPicks. - The maximum number of days that you may book per reservation is only 28 days. It was a nice clean room. Didn’t have no problem, everything was on point.

Room cleaned every day nice bar . Restaurant is a chip wagon for the two bars. But a star bucks which was great.
We went for breakfast there. Would I go back no would look out for a affordable place with more restaurants and a bit better room.

This place is an old motel that was converted into a VRBO. It has been remodeled and is clean and the property well maintained.
The checkin process was hampered by the fact that the front desk just consists of a computer on a stand off the front door. It was unattended when we got there and I had to search the property to find someone to check us in. They hit you with a $50 a day "RESORT FEE" when you check in. Their only "resort" feature is a pool. The water in the pool is not heated and was absolutely frigid. Never saw anyone in the water during our entire stay.
The room supposedly had a king sized bed but I'd say it's was more like a prince sized bed. Sure didn't appear to be as large as a full king sized mattress.
Food availability is an issue. The Gates doesn't have a restaurant. Their sister hotel next door the 24°North hotel serves food outdoors by their pool. It's a very limited menu. When we were there it was much too windy to eat outdoors by the pool. There is a McD's about a 1/4 of a mile down the road if you get desperate. The Hilton a couple hundred yards down the road serves a small menu in their lobby but they were "not serving" several items on their menu. Including what we wanted of course. The Marriott across from the Hilton does have a full restaurant. But we didn't try it. Plan on eating down in the heart of Key West where there are tons of good restaurants. Blue Heaven being one we'd recommend.

It's $$ to park in Key West. The hotel has a bus that travels hourly to Old Town.

This is a room that doesnt look anything’s like the picture you see above. Nice property for a regular hotel room . 2 pools and 2 bars and no microwave no real frig and room is closed in not open .

Nice modern room. Convenient to pool and bar. Concierge very helpful. Free shuttle came in handy.

Other tha n mis-communication with housekeeping it was an overall pleasant stay. Super enjoyed the shuttle service.

Place was great but mattress was horrible. I spent most of my stay sleeping on couch. Needs a new mattress or a topper at minimum.

Room was good like it was remodeled! Couldn't get to much sleep they had roosters everywhere that would crow early morning! No free breakfast but like I said room was good and clean for price

This property had everything we needed. Clean rooms with a property with all the amenities we need including pool, bar, and free transportation to duval street.

The Gates Hotel did not disappoint! Super clean! Great guest relations! Everyone we dealt with from management to housekeeping was professional and exceptionally nice! Excellent pool, yard, and outside bar by the pool!! Beautiful grounds. We enjoyed the roosters and chickens!! The only reason I give it a 4.8 was the bed was a platform bed that didn’t have a box springs. I was ok but wasn’t exceptionally comfortable. It was just a little low to the ground. But it was not terrible. No plug in the bathroom to dry hair, etc, but there was plenty of plugs on the side of bed to use for that purpose. Lastly, we wish we would have realized we would have to go up outside stairs. We would have requested a downstairs room because we have bad knees.
Overall, we still give it a 4.8 on 5 star scale. None of the complaints we had ruined our stay! Enjoyed it all!!

Very clean, friendly staff, you can use all 4 property amenities and there’s a bus that runs every hour to take you to/from downtown. Would stay again!
