We loved our entire stay at Bora Bora. From the moment we arrived at the dock, to the time we left, the service was outstanding. The club itself was beautiful and the room was divine. The drinks were good and the food was the best that we had on our entire trip to Colombia.
It was a little strange to me that there was no entertainment or social activities after the day guests left. We felt like socialising one night but the other guests were enjoying their quiet and relaxation. We asked about any neighbouring properties that we may be able to go to for some nightlife but unfortunately that wasn't an option.

The staff was wonderful, very personal and the manager organized a karaoke with the 4 couples staying in the rooms one night and we were the only English speaking couple and we had a hilarious and great night, a real highlight. Great place to relax on the morning, swimming was nice, no beach to speak of and the day gets very busy with day guests which we liked, the hotel guests are on the separated VIP side of the property and you have your own dedicated cabana attached to the room and the dancing and people watching are great. Great spot for a night or two, we had booked 4 nights and left after 2 which was just the right amount of time. Definitely take the hotel boat option as we took a boat we booked four nights ourselves and it was half the cost and 10 times the mess and difficulty.
Not a beach to sit on, deeper water very rocky underfoot though the sea is a beautiful color and temperature. Can be very loud with the speakers and bar party and we felt a little trapped on a quite small property so bring a book and someone you really want to talk to. We walked the mud path to “town” at the center of the island and found better basic hyper poverty, plastic garbage and shoeless locals and all the feral dogs you ever wanted, there is a store and two “restaurants” and we bought booze beer and ate at all three though at first glance the place is quite a scene. Food at the resort restaurant was quite nice but very expensive. This is a good spot to hide out for a night or two, we booked four nights but left after two.
