The staff were VERY ACOMMODATING. The atmosphere was very calm and peaceful.
We didn’t have a car, so it was quite difficult for us to go to places like the convenience store since it’s far. But, it was easily compensated by the staff because they were more than happy to drive us there free of charge.

Very spacious accomodation (especially by Japanese standards) with a view of Lake Ashinoko and Mt Fuji from our window! The toilet is next level, even by Japanese standards! It's a little remote so we were grateful to have a breakfast option. The location is peaceful and set in leafy grounds, with an easy downhill walk to the lake edge, the handful of local eateries and the Ropeway. (Somewhat more challenging walking back!) The accommodation is part of a large complex but seemed mostly empty during our stay so we pretty much had the onsen to ourselves. We enjoyed being able to take our onsen outdoors, and look across to Mt Fuji while doing so. When not gazing at Fuji-san, we kept ourselves happily occupied with the Ropeway and hiking around the lake. Overall, we spent a very full and enjoyable couple of days here.
Signage and outdoor lighting is minimal to non-existent. We arrived after dark, in the drizzle, and spent an inordinate amount of time hauling our heavy suitcases up steep steps and wrong turns in the wet and dark before we finally found reception at the top of a particularly steep set of stone steps. Then hauled our suitcases down more steps and precarious slopes to the villa. Definitely NOT recommended for those with mobility issues! The accommodation itself was very clean, however, there was a persistent musty smell, even with the windows open. The villa was equipped with a kitchen and some pots though not a single knife of any description, and a kettle but no cups or bowls. The stovetop also had a complicated 'child lock' safety feature, which took some dedicated youtube searching to crack! It was an equally complicated process to turn on the hot water, which we didn't bother with in the end as we were happy using the onsen. It didn't bother us, but some might find the pond 'slime' on the onsen bath walls disconcerting. (This didn't seem to be present at other onsen we visited). Also not a big deal, but this was the only accommodation I stayed at in four weeks in Japan that didn't provide slippers. No grocery store in town and most eateries close after lunch so be sure to pack provisions. Breakfast is set (Japanese style), with no options. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay, and were happy to forgive pretty much everything for the view!

Clean and nice rooms in affordable price

The hot springs were on a beautiful balcony overlooking lake ashi and on a clear day you could see the majestic Mt Fuji. Accomodation was very comfortable and spacious as well.
Bit far from nearby convenience stores and shops but that is very similar across much of Hakone.

Onsen is superb!
Room is clean and big!
Staff is helpful!
The location is very bad! It’s not suitable for someone traveling without a car, especially if you arrive at the hotel at night. There was no light or signboard, plus you need to hike because the hotel is on top of the hill. Lastly, you can’t user carier service to send your luggages. Hence, you have to carry them while hiking.

Waking upto to the view of Mt Fuji and the lake was pretty nice in the morning..
The reception was very kind and helpful and kind.
Spacious villa to spend the night, good value.
Yukatas and toiletries were supposed to be ready on arrival but maybe the cleaning staff forgot to areange them. Went to the receptionist and she sorted them out instantly. Could be a bit more cleaner…
but all and all we enjoyed the stay ^_^

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed in Japan

The view is incredible and the Onsen at the main hotel is fantastic
Literally nothing in the kitchen - no tea bags / no snacks / nothing - even though it was a fully functioning kitchen. We were located in a hotel 50m or so from the main hotel so had to walk outside, no cover, to the main hotel for an Onsen. There is nothing else there, no food vending machines, no food service - nothing

View & onsen
Some varity / choice in breakfast would be nice.
But the service was good.

rooms were fine and the onsen was nice
staff informed us of all the rules of the hotel but did not inform us that the restaurant was closed, as well as all restaurants in the area. They did not tell us buses stopped running in the evening either. If they had mentioned we needed to get a bus/taxi early to get food we would have. they informed us of other things but not this vital piece of information.

Japanese breakfast was quite good.
Long distance up a steep hill from rope way terminal; bathroom didn’t have a shower; quite a few steps (about 30) up to property from road; had to go out for evening meal as hotel did not serve dinner; overall - overpriced!

The view at the property was stunning. On a clear day, you can see Mt Fuji and Lake Aishi from the lobby, onsen and some of the rooms. The property is also clean and quiet - perfect for those who need a retreat. The staff are also excellent - going around helping you with your needs in an unassuming fashion.
Location is difficult if you don’t drive. It is a distance away from the stations. However, the staff will be happy to drop you at the bus stop or station if they have the time.
The outdoor pool has some algae which I guess is difficult to avoid for an outdoor pool.

I loved their bath house. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Honestly the staff was the best part of my stay.
Very far from everything

Clean and beautiful. Onsen is also great.

Nice room, nice view from onsen and the hotel, yukatas provided.
The onsen was on the smaller side. There were two small beds instead of one queen sized one. The stairs up to reception are long and there's no sign so at first it can be confusing

Beautiful location with view of Mount Fuji and the lake.
Very large beautiful house.
Didn't have large towels.
Linen did not fit the blankets and the futons.
Staff was friendly but couldn't address these issues.

The staff was so helpful and kind! We loved our stay it was comfortable and homey. The Onsen was fresh and mountain hot with incredible views!
I think having better access to drinking water would be helpful!

The staff were friendly and drove us to and from the property. They were Chinese but spoke good Japanese. We had a whole three story house to ourselves, and could use the hot spring baths for ourselves. Good for the price we paid.
The hot spring baths clearly hadn't been cleaned and had hairs and other dirt floating in it. Similarly, the futons in the house we stayed in had hairs on them, suggesting it had not been properly cleaned. The house was also freezing and clearly had been without heating for a long time - after a few hours of everything on full heat the house began to warm up but warming it up for us before checking in (in snow freezing weather) would have been appreciated.

Stayed in the villa. Check-in process was smooth. Make sure to snag wifi info at counter. Bring your own food since everything closes past 4pm except 1 restaurant. Staff can take you there but the food was on the low spectrum. You'll do better by bringing your own food. The response and quality of staff is great. The onsen was great! Location is ok, if you don't mind walking 10 minutes to get into town. The bus stop is about a 5 minute walk.
One thing I noticed was there no tea cups,I checked all the cabinets, didn't really have a cup to drink hot tea in. Only tall glasses. Aside from that, would stay again.

The rotenburo (outdoor bath) was a nice surprise.
Breakfast and checkout times are a little later than usual.
The location is convenient.
The property is conveniently located but hard to find if you are driving, especially after dark. There are no signs from the main road. Moreover, the staff could not give me clear directions by phone as they themselves were not even familiar with the main roads.
The property is not very welcoming. The staff do not appear to be local, and the service throughout was very perfunctory. The air-conditioning did not work in my room, so a standalone fan-heater was provided. But I still had to ask Front Desk for extra blankets. (Only one was provided.) Breakfast was sub-standard for Hakone area. No staff attended during the meal, even though I was the only guest at that time.

Room was good.
View is awesome.
There is requirement of lights and sign boards.
Onsen is too small and not clean.
There is no phone in room to contact anyone. I didn’t require it but it should be there for emergencies.
No spoons/forks/knives in room. Other utensils are good.

cozy and traditional Japanese onsen. no complaints. just make sure to plan your travel ahead of time and factor in the 9 minute walk/hike from the bus stop. it’s worth it!!!

Staff were friendly, the manager took real good care of me, picked me up from the station when it was late, offered to open the onsen late. Called a local restaurant which offered a free pick-up and drop off service. The room had an amazing view and the onsen was lovely to relax in with spectacular views.
