Everything is very good, except the window covering is lace curtain, No sunblind, half of drape is just for the decoration only. Sunlight come to you early in the morning.

Our stay was over the top! The Empress Hotel was perfect for a get away with my adult daughters. The pool and spa area was wonderful. The bar was lovely for an evening of nice music low enough so we could talk, nice drinks and stepping back in time with updates. Views are so pretty inside and outside! All staff were very professional, kind and helpful. We had the best stay!!!! I look forward to taking my husband in the near future!

The Empress is a pleasant hotel but I’m not certain it is deserving of the hype. The “basic” level of room is noisy with views over the loading deck or the air conditioning fans. Perhaps these are just the rooms reserved for those booking with a third party. The decor is nice and the beds are comfortable. Disappointing that there is not breakfast included as standard. Overall a pleasant place but overpriced for what it is.

My first visit to the Empress was a few years back and i had a lovely updated room and bathroom. I figured that was normal for a luxury hotel. Unfortunately this time my room was pokey and the bathroom was quite old and tiny, so it was a little disappointing. Overall, the service was great, the hotel is lovely...i just wish there was a little more consistency with the rooms.

We were in town for the Victoria Whisky festival and chose to stay at The Empress as I had stayed there some 20 years ago. It didn't disappoint and we had a very comfortable stay.

I have wanted to spend the night here for more than a decade. It didn't disappoint. I loved the room's high ceiling and ornate trim/furniture. I was clean and the service was fantastic.

The Fairmont Empress is stunning. It is a beautiful castle in Victoria exhibiting chateau style railway hotel building in Canada. My 5 year old son thought it should be in Paris! Our stay at the Empress was really nice. It is pet-friendly and you feel as your pets are actually welcome. Dinner and service at Q at the Empress was delicious. On stature alone, I'd rate the Empress a 10, but there are some areas that Fairmont could improve the overall experience. Check-in/ out was slow due to only one person working at the front desk. The rooms felt a little dated and could be better maintained. The beds are uncomfortable.

Amazing experience. I recommend this place 100% From the check-in process till the last day. Beautiful château property on Victoria's Waterfront. There are restaurants and a high scale shopping area, all inside the hotel. Rooms are cozy and elegant with great amenities. Staff was super friendly throughout our stay. They would even ask a convenient time to clean our room. Parking is underground on-site (costs extra). You are in the middle of most attractions this city has to offer, including TONS of restaurants and bars. Or just take a stroll along the water and Government buildings area. Location, architecture and staff, this is a fantastic stay in town.

The hotel staff was extremely considerate and helpful from the front desk to the hotel cleaning staff, awesome customer service. Nice place to stay especially if you are traveling on the Victoria Clipper - easy walk from the dock back and forth to the hotel.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our booked room was not ready yet so they provide us an upgrade and early check in. We had a beautiful view of the harbour and Parliament Building as well. They also provided us a microwave inside our room as i have my own diet.

The hotel room itself was very basic. You could hear EVERYTHING going on in the hall, and we unfortunately had drunk people yelling late at night and being rowdy in the hallway, and it made sleeping impossible. There were no extra blankets in the room, and the bed only came with a sheet and duvet. Checkout was confusing- they ask you to email or use your tv to check out, but then never responded when i asked a question. Parking was a little weird. It's underneath the building, and hard to see. The ticket booth malfunctioned and couldn't print a ticket, so the attendant just told us to drive in. Yet when we left, we were told we were supposed to have a ticket. We were charged $25.99 usd two days after we checked out, with no explanation of what is was for. Possibly parking, as that is not free. Communication was poor, i am used to hotels giving more complete information before the stay and this was disappointing. The location was great, but i would not book again.

Had a lovely two night stay here. My room had a view of the harbor. Enjoyed watching the busy activity of the harbor; the float planes, the ferry, the Christmas lights. Cocktail bar was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Empress G&T was fantastic.

Loved the magnificent building. Rooms are small - “queen” beds are the size of a super single so be wary of that.

Our room was quite nice other than the views. We only got to see the side of the building but no biggie. The bed and bedding were a dream,so comfy. Hot tub was a perfect end of day activity. The staff were wonderful and so polite. Fantastic pubs and restaurants in walking distance. Glad we decided to stay here
