We had an awesome weekend stay, walking distance to all the cool shops and restaurants in Placerville. What the hell is eco friendliness in the Review choices ? I gave them an excellent review even though I don't have a clue what it means.

Amazing stay at the cottage! So quaint and cozy and close proximity to our planned trip to Apple Hill! We loved the breakfast that was complimentary, and they even accommodated my wife’s special dietary request. Porch was beautiful, and it made enjoying coffee in the morning amazing! We will definitely stay here again for future apple Hill trips.

Really adorable 2-bed/2-bath house in the trees. Across HI 50 from downtown Placerville, but walkable due to a pedestrian bridge over the highway. So convenient to all the happenings, but still quiet and peaceful. The Hosts are super responsive and seem to really care about their home. They have a great story behind it too, which makes it a more interesting stay, and explains why there is so much large furniture in all the rooms. They run the B&B below, and bring breakfast up to the house every morning at 9. That was a nice touch too, although we would have liked an earlier option. There are two bathrooms, but only one shower (the other bathroom just has a tub) so keep that in mind if traveling with another couple. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. There was plenty of hot water and water pressure but no lotion, body wash or conditioner, so make sure to bring your own.

Was cleaner and nicer than expected. Loved the privacy and convenience of the electronic key pads to get in and out. We really enjoyed the stay, my only suggestion (which i couldn't find paper to put in the suggestion box) is for the big soaking tub to add a step in or step out of some sort.

It was not like other B&B experiences that we so often have. We did not engage with the owners or others.. Breakfasat was served in the individual rooms. Not a personal B&B experience.
The house needs some TLC. It is not in good condition.
It iis in a great location.

Our stay was simply great! It is super convenient to the old town, to the highway, and to an amazing neighborhood of old homes! The home was fabulous. Comfortable beds, lovely living room, kitchen and bathrooms! We ate dinners in. If desired, you will receive a hand delivered breakfast that is delicious! The back porch is huge and so great to relax on. We brought our dog and had no problems. It’s on a hill, but a short walk to the bridge that takes you right over to town. Sleeps 4 in beds. We had 5 but pulled a mattress from the laundry room and set it up with available sheets in the living room. Worked great! Would recommend highly.

Check in was okay. No staff or service.
The house that we stayed in was dark and dingy.
No breakfast available which was disappointing since we paid a premium price for a “Bed and breakfast ”.

Pleasant, quite, comfy, isolated and relaxing. Our road trip lead us to this area of California. It was just what we needed to get away from all the city chaos.

Breakfast was excellent! Property needs some repair work. Leak at bathroom faucet disrupting electrical outlet. Baseboards in the bathroom needed cleaning, but no creepy crawlies, comfortable (although squeaky) bed, and excellent selection of coffee pods. Very friendly staff.

I found this property to be very quaint. I enjoyed the breakfast brought to my room every morning. I felt safe staying by myself there. I thought they could use new pillows as mine were kind of flat. But the bed was comfy and sheets like home. I felt like I was staying in a friend’s guest bedroom. Very nice. Would go again:)

Met two friends and their dog who were from Georgia. It was so comfy and cozy. Our room was spacious enough for all of us; we never felt cramped. The living room area (of which there are two) was an incredibly comfortable area for us to hang out and visit. Great location, its an easy walk to the downtown with a bridge over the highway.

Very quiet and close to old town Placerville. The owner’s were very nice and accommodating. The house’s mystic were enhanced by the cute decorating for Halloween. The breakfast was very good and a great presentation!

I LOVED the historical and weathered inn and grounds of the1859 inn.
Sitting on the lit porch last night was magical. My imagination brought me back to our California Gold rush.
Kim welcomed us and gave us some interesting inn and grounds tidbits.
Our morning breakfast this morning was wonderful, too. Pinkies Out Ladies!
Lucas, the dog, Marmalade, the cat and and 2 other property cats keep the grounds in check.

It was a convenient walk to Main Street dining, and a 15 minute drive to James Marshall Gold Discovery State Park. Pretty property grounds and a step back in time. Friendly owners!

My kids were in love with the dog Lucas and a few cats. We loved sitting on the patio and walking in the trees. It was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and we loved it. Tom brought amazing breakfast to our room each morning. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Tom, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. He told us the history of the house and the area, and helped us settle in. There were fresh cookies and all sorts of hot drink pods for use in the machine in the hall or our room. There was a small fridge in our room and a microwave in the hall. The common areas were very cozy for reading, meeting others, and just relaxing by the fire. The Roku TV in our room wouldn't come on and Tom got it working right away - he tried the controller first and when that tested out fine, it was the old plug and unplug that did the trick. He brought our breakfasts to the room and we sat out on the private patio, but we could have gone into one of the common rooms and eaten with others if we wanted. The room had a wide selection of books and a few games - it would be perfect for a family with kids. We could easily walk over the pedestrian overpass to old town with a variety of shops and dining. It was a wonderful stay.

This is a charming stay with loads of character. It's a very old building and creeks a bit.
Breakfast was charming. For me the bed was too soft.
And like nearly all stays including 5 star, there is very little room for placing 2 pieces of luggage. The 1 available for a room of 3, was below knee level.
Tom served a nice breakfast, and was very friendly.

Very nice B&B, we had such a pleasant experience staying there. 5 min walk to town to have dinner. Tom, the owner is great, very nice and accommodating. My husband has to work and he could use the B@B library even after check out time. Coffee maker in every room, jar water available and homemade breakfast was delicious. Very nice and beautifully served. Not like the fake scrambled eggs at Best Western. You should stay there on your way to Lake Tahoe.

The room was nice sized and there was a large living room right outside our room that we could sit in. Great breakfasts.
The property needs some repairs.
