We liked the historic atmosphere. The elevator was very intriguing. Staff were helpful and the bed was comfortable.

The Cary Hotel is my favorite place in Placerville. It's beautiful, comfortable, and convenient. The staff just couldn't be nicer. My favorite part is the little bits of historical knowledge all over the place.

Quaint and beautiful historic hotel! Right in downtown Placerville. We loved strolling from the hotel to all the cute shops and antique stores along the row.
Hotel itself was clean, well managed with friendly staff. Shower was hot with great pressure! We loved the antique look of the rooms.
Bonus: if you like ghosts and spooky stories, this hotel is great! We loved watching the Portals to Hell episode about the hotel… in the hotel!
Overall, fantastic experience. We would stay here again if we found ourselves in the area.
