Great hotel in the best location right off the Royal Mile with friendly staff. The bed was comfortable. There were only two minor issues with the bathroom door slamming shut all the time and the room did not have a fridge or hardly any furniture in the spacious room. However, the stay was good value for money!

The hotel was so much better than expected given the star rating and the price. The bed was large and comfy with a choice of pillow types. Shower was good and bathroom was clean. Only comment is that the window in our room was a bit dodgy, needs a repair. Wouldn't close properly so all the noises of the street came through. We did not speak to reception about this as it didn't bother us too much but imagine it would bother someone else.

Really good value for money! We got a really large room, with a comfortable bed. Everything was clean and lovely. But the best thing about the hotel is the location!! Just in the middle of old town and new town. Everything you need is just around the corner. The service was ok, but everyone was friendly. Nothing more, nothing less. We had a great stay!

The service was very good and staff were very friendly. Hotel was nice, however the only drawback was, there was zero privacy in the toilet in the room. There was a large space between bottom of the door and the floor. Taking into account it's a budget hotel, the price didn't reflect such pathetic privacy.

This hotel is located perfectly for Waverley Station, Princes Street, and the Royal Mile. Very comfortable stay from start to finish. Friendly, polite staff. Spacious room and one of the best showers that I have used.

Wasn't sure what to expect but it's a really lovely hotel and the room was so spacious and nicely decorated. Staff are super friendly and it's literally 2 min from Waverley station. The room was so quiet and the bed was super comfy and overall great value for money and you couldn't get a better location. ☺️

Check-in was quick and efficient. Room was adequate and perclfectly clean. The hotel ii a perfect spot. Two minutes from the train station and in the heart of edin My only gripe was that the coffee and tea in the room (of which there was plenty) was served in paper cups. Just not my thing.

I always enjoy My visits to Edinburgh and this was the 2nd time I had stayed at this Motel One and apart from the uninteresting view through the bedroom window and the small number of English speakjng stations on the TV I had another wonderful time in the Scottish capital.

Perfect location to walk to all the tourist sites and more! Highly recommend

We booked a double room. When we entered the room it was clean and nice but the view was looking onto a small outside area that was squared in by other rooms. Looking straight on to a building. I suffer with claustrophobia so I went straight to reception to see if we could get a better room with a view so I didn’t feel boxed in. The guys at the reception were brilliant, they went out of their way to juggle bookings around to release a room that was more than suitable. Thanks guys. Bar staff were very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere and decor of the reception and bar area is lovely. Excellent location and not over noisy considering the location being next to the train station. If we was to return to Edinburgh we would stay here again

Great hotel! Lovely rooms, right next to the train station but could barely hear the trains! Room super clean and tidy but no bin? Loved the blue sweets at the reception desk too super cute! Great staff very helpful would stay again!

An incredible location that is 5 mins to Waverley Station, approximately the same to the Royal Mile. Clean and neat rooms with inviting decor. A definite future choice when visiting Edinburgh

Hotel was great, only marked it down slightly as they were having building work done to the front of the hotel. Didn't have a major impact on our stay and will definitely be back.

It's in a great location - near to the train and to almost everything. The room is clean and new, it would be great if there's a view outside my window.

Fabulous little funky hotel a stones throw from the train station. Only criticism is that the reception team weren’t particularly welcoming. Neither person acknowledged when I arrived on a cold Thursday evening, they remained completely silent whilst checking me and simply handed me the key. I had to ask how to get to my room! As the receptionist is the first person you see would be great to feel like they want you there as a guest! Then had very little knowledge of food availability and essentially sent me off to the bar to find out. Bar team on the other hand were excellent, friendly and very informative. Had a lovely cheese toastie, great drinks selection and a brilliant trendy bar with lots of residents/guests drinking. 10 out of 10 for hotel and bar team just need to train the reception team!

No room service. Bought a quick bite at the bar and dirty plate was never removed from my room. Carpet looked old and dirty in the room

The hotel is in a fabulous location within a short walk to the old town and train station. An area surrounding by culture and beauty. Really friendly staff and stylish decor. The breakfast was very disappointing and not worth the money, particularly as there are lots of cafes near by.

Really nice people all around from desk to bartenders. Bed and pillows were soft and warm. Bathroom and room was spotless. I was given a great view of the Rabbie Burns Monument too.

Excellent location, very nice rooms and lobby. Made use of the car park discount code after our train was cancelled last minute. Couldn’t ask for more.

Overall our stay was great. We stayed room only. The bed was comfortable and room was large. The bathroom was also very clean. There were a coffee and tea options with a kettle. The location of the hotel was excellent which was why we booked here initially as only a second walk from the Christmas markets and royal mile. Only draw backs were out of 3 lifts only 1 worked so had to wait a while as the hotel was busy for the Christmas period. The room we were allocated was also a trek away from the reception, having to go in 2 different lifts. The room also didn’t have a bin and we were quite cold as the heating only blew out cool air. Were also glad we didn’t opt to pay extra for breakfast as when we came down of a morning it appeared to be just toast / cereals/ very limited option of hot food. We ended up going to the local coffee shops and bistros which worked out better and cheaper for us. Overall this hotel is value for money and comfortable for a couple nights stay. Staff were always polite. Welcoming and professional!
