The stay was awesome. The girlfriend and I enjoyed the accommodations, and the 1910 character of the building/room. Just had a small hiccup trying to make contact with the owner/operator of the establishment. Once contact was made and accommodations were confirmed everything was smooth and the owner/operator was super. I give a 9 out of 10 and will recommend the Arundel Mansion to anyone visiting New Westminster, BC.

Stay was an experience but generally not unexpected as it is a 1912 building. Roomy with a good bed and more than adequate kitchen. Elevator was definitely an experience. The rumble of the Skytrain outside the living room area would be a problem for many but we slept well despite it.

It was very inexpensive for the property. Loved the classic feel. The elevator was worth seeing and using. Very classic. The space was clean and comfortable. Downside was the sky train runs right beside it.

A gorgeous building which was been wonderfully preserved to its period state. If you enjoy history and appreciate the details of past architecture this is the best hotel for you. I absolutely adored staying here; it was like my dream of living in a heritage home come true! You get a whole apartment, with a fully stocked kitchen. All the cool things about the building are so fun, like the pressure plate to open the kitchen door, the doorbell, and especially the elevator. Owners are very nice and accommodating; I highly recommend this place

It was scary to stay there

It is a historic hotel with few amenities and very unique. Bed is comfortable and is a very spacious unit with separate kitchen, bedroom and living/dining room. A lot of homeless people around especially a the back where hotel parking is.

How cool to see a property that maintained the vintage style. I loved seeing how they lived in the past

This place is so cool! It's literally like stepping back in time. If you were living in this place in 1922 you were ballin'.
My only comment about our particular room was that the sky train ran right under it every 37 seconds. It's like that scene in The Blues Brothers when they stay in Elwoods room.

It was a awesome stay at the Mansion.

We stayed at this property after seeing it on Expedia, for a quick getaway at the beginning of July. When we were shown to our room, all of the windows were open because of how hot and muggy it was inside, and there was a train that ran right outside our window. This train ran all day and all night and was exceptionally loud. In order to get any relief from the heat, you had to open the windows so we heard the train all day and night. The property was dirty and there were homeless individuals all around both entrances. In order to park you have to park in a lot next to the food bank and walk up an ally that smells of urine. Our first night was uncomfortable but my partner had to work the entire next day so we decided to make the most of it. The next day he was completely unable to work because he could not get on the hotels Wi-Fi, despite one of the selling points of this property being free Wi-Fi. That day we escaped the room and went to lunch and when we returned and opened the front door, a crack pipe fell off the door handle and onto my foot. That was the last straw and we packed up and left immediately. I contacted the property to let them know we were vacating early and was told that we would be contacted about a refund, but we were not. I’ve attempted to contact the property on several occasions with no luck. The woman who is running the day to day for this place is very kind and well intentioned but is over her head

Rustic. The old elevator somewhat charming and somewhat concerning.

The property is quaint and old. There is not front desk and had to meet to get keys. Was not given a Wifi password and unable to reach him after to find one. The property is located above the train tracks so it is very loud. The single pane windows did nothing to reduce the noise every 3-5 minutes. The kitchen in the suite is very old and outdated.

Unique, spacious and comfortable accommodations. Close to shopping and transportation. Historic building.

The place has a lot of character, its beautiful and very unique, very old, has so much charm, I would like to go back but some things were not very clean, the percolator was very dirty (put a Polydent tablet with water overnight and it will look almost new), the pots and pans were not very clean. I understand that the building is over 100 yeas old, but the cover for the ironing board could have used a good wash. Staff was very friendly and helpful and so was the owner/manager.

Very old building right next to skytrain track.....too much noise

This property is very vintage and has a lot of character. That location is very sketchy and as a single woman I would not ever stay there. The fire extinguisher was extremely out of date and the bedding could be upgraded. The noise of the sky train makes sleep very challenging.

It was a pleasant stay. I enjoyed the close proximity to skytrain and shopping. A close walk to the New West scenic Quay.
The Arundel is close to the skytrain line, therefore some noise.
I loved the period specific furnishings.

Great location. This is a 100 year old hotel it is funky. Smells a bit in hallways. Bedding is mismatched. Kitchen has all amenities if you want to cook. Lots of ethnic places to eat. People are friendly.

This property is like no other. If you’re into unique old style flapper days and anything that That never existed until the past few years and this is this day for you. Located right in the middle of a new Westminster this gem is a hidden one and it’s trashy I hold dear to my heart. There’s something about this place that makes it special unique and one-of-a-kind. This is a great place for any couple, person visiting on business, or possibly for even a small family.

The rooms are a step back in time. It was like staying at my grandmother’s house. Love the apartment size space and full kitchen. The Wi fi reception is not great but it wasn’t at grandmas either:)

Arundel was a very cool place to stay. Bob the property management/ check in was incredibly nice, showed me around and explained the history of the building. It was like taking a step back in time. Just like taking a step back in time though the wifi was practically non existent and the (modern) TV in the room had the worst picture I’ve ever experienced. The surrounding neighborhood has a fair amount of homeless but it’s not really an issue like others have mentioned in their reviews. Noise was a bit of an issue, being so close to the sky train station meant if you had your window open it was a bit like being right inside the station itself. These are minor annoyances (besides the wifi - that needs to get updated) I would without a doubt stay here again.

This place takes you back to a time that has been forgotten throughout the years. Awesome to see old buildings like this still being used as it was 100 years ago !

Absolutely oozing old world charm. Beautiful wooden floors, high ceilings, claw foot bathtub, original elevator. Just gorgeous. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Downsides: train noise and a bit of a seedy part of town. Overall a wonderful place to stay!

Not a good area lots of crackheads in and around the hotel. I would not stay here again.

I liked the historical feel. I found the staff helpful, and the location is close to all amenities. The Skytrain runs past, so it took a bit of getting used to. Overall, I give the hotel a 7.5/10. I would stay there again.

This is the second time I stayed here! Its a hotel with lots of character; everything is years old! ... and that is charming that you can go back in time. I loved it!

Very original place to stay overnight. Early 1900s mansion with old apartments. Nice little place. If you park behind the building, can be hard to bring all your stuff if you’re alone. Could benefit toiletries (shampoo). In all was very nice stay and pleasant owners.
1.0
Run down, hot water takes 20m to get hot, no shampoo, old rags for towels.
3.0
Checking in was a huge problem, there is no front desk so you have to be in at a specific time.
5.0
The perfect place if you’re looking for a good place to write or to take vintage photographs. Not your typical hotel. Expect more of an apartment-like experience. Perfect for grocery shopping and cooking your own food. The elevator is a little sketchy but also quite cool. Very close to the SkyTrain.

I really enjoyed my stay. Lots of room, full kitchen. Restored but vintage. Reminded me of a fort Edmonton type of hotel (for those Albertan's in the crowd). It definitely met our families needs, and the bottle of wine is a nice touch. Maybe not for you if you want modern, but a really cool experience. I would recommend.

for me, it was a quiet place to stay. it is next to the skytrain, but i didn’t notice the noise from that. i liked the quaintness of the hotel. the staff for the weekend was extremely kind and helpful. the hall outside my room was dark, though. the hotel was built around 1912, and was recently refurbished. it looks great, despite some small patches of peeling paint. but i’m an artist so that didn’t bother me. the hotel ad didn’t say, or maybe i overlooked that the room is really an apartment. it has separated rooms for bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and living room. it was almost like being at home. my only thing was, it’s in the middle of a very steep hill which frightened me. the hill at the back was somewhat less steep. it’s a block from the quay. the room is comfortable, with chairs that have footstools. the room even has a selection of books and vhs movie tapes. i think this hotel is probably meant for longer stays than mine. i only stayed three nights. the wifi connection was quick and easy.
