La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield IL

The room had been remodeled, very well done except the trim in bathroom. The bathroom door swung open and the handle hit the glass shower door pretty hard if you didn't catch it. The AC never got the room temp below 75, no matter how much you adjusted the thermostat. Weird because it was blasting full speed and 66° when we first entered, and turned it down. The pool water was cloudy, and way over chlorinated. In fact, you could smell "chlorine" (pool odor) on the third floor. Staff was great, frielndly. The bed was soft, like a down topper, very comfortable. Mattress contained in a protective bag. The breakfast area in the lobby was very good and very well stocked. The lobby and halls were very clean. In some places the wallpaper poorly adhered along the top and seams. Ice and vending well supplied. No sign of mold or mildew in our ice machine (yes, I checked - bad experience elsewhere). All in, not a bad deal. But pushing the price point. We would stay again.

The La Quinta in Springfield Illinois was beautifully run - and, literally beautiful! I was traveling alone, as a senior lady, and needed a safe environment. This was it! Walmart across the parking lot in one direction, and a Golden Corral in the other direction. Perfecto! The room with 2 queen beds was the most spacious I have every stayed in. I HIGHLY recommend this place. And it was right at the junction of Interstate 55 and 72. Absolutely perfect.
