I arrived late at night but self check in was allowed for the ones who arrive later than 11pm. A bed was comfortable. Shower and toilet were kept clean. Also staff was friendly. I only stayed here for a night but I am willing to visit you when i visit LA again.

The people in the hostel were kind and kept to themselves. Majority of them were not in the hostel most of the time, making the area quiet. The place is also a 5 min walks away from little Tokyo and shopping spots. So if you’re a fan of Japanese food then this is the perfect spot. Bathrooms were really small and I questioned if they were clean but for the price i think it’s worth it. Bring your own blanket as well. I made the mistake of not bringing one. The blankets they provided reminded me of cheap curtains. They were thin, so I was freezing in the night. Other than that I recommend this place if you’re going to stay for a day. I’d definitely book a hotel if it were more than one.

Ten minute walk away from bus station which suited my needs as had to catch an early bus to the airport.

The bathroom is too tiny. But the bed is big and comfortable. And the location is good. Cuz u can walking 6 mins to A little Tokyo. It’s just the price is high for Hostel but other things are barely ok. One night sleep is ok. 2 to 7 nights is too much : Not worthy.

Great place!

Lost my phone charger and had to work with staff to retrieve the code for the stay in the middle of the night. Fabulous response for what may have become a disaster.

Yo, if you want more people to come here, you got to clean up the entire place and replace the beds. I almost broke my ankle

in theory, great idea. someone is definitely profiting a lot off of this. the execution: terrible. if everyone realized other people exist, it might be a great solution. but it is what I imagine sleeping in a jail to be like but no women, only men. I arrived late 12:30am, but I was not the last person, 2 people arrived much later and had their phone lights on to find their beds & were apologizing out loud. I luckily found my assigned bed and slept in my clothes to not disturb anyone around me but that’s impossible. the mattress had no support, lumpy, old, the sheets were not soft or new, the single pillow was very old. I hoped they were clean & bed bug free but it was too dark to see. A window was open & the train went by every 5-7min ruining any possibility of actual sleep. I dozed off twice to be woken up by falling objects from other bunks, snores (how anyone could sleep is amazing to me) footsteps loud & soft, someone taking a pill/water, someone decided to shower around 4am and then had a bowl of cereal with every spoon clink on the bowl being clear as day. at 8:30am I had enough & left but used the toilet that has a flimsy closet door, I’m glad I only had to pee or it would’ve been a symphony for the whole room. the bathroom area smelled bad but didn’t see the roaches all the other reviews list. I’m only giving it one star because it was a lil better than sleeping in my rental car on the street. like… what even is this place? I stay in hostels frequently.

Staff was cooperative but not enough to arrange a parking on property. Toilet was smelly. Worst part is had to cancel my two days of stay but no refund back from property.

Had a problem with bugs in the kitchen area, but overall a nice stay.

We stayed here for almost 2 weeks and had unsafe experiences. On our last night a guy that stayed in the dorm j*rked off in front of our bed while looking at us when he thought we were sleeping and we weren’t the only ones he did it to. He kept harassing us and we left for the airport in the middle of the night because there was no contact to any security or staff members (we called many times), who still has not answered our messages regarding the topic 5 days later. It is stated that they provide breakfast, but they do not. They have a small delivery every Thursday that consisted of apples, tomatoes and cucumbers. The common rooms were almost always filled with people who seemed to live there, generally older men. The bed was comfortable, but the cleaning was not up to standards. Especially when dark a lot of cockroaches were running around everywhere (toilet seat, kitchen drawers, bed etc). Nice connections to transport (bus and brand new metro station). Would not reccomend.

The staff is co-operative and helpful. We checked-in after the staff's operating hours but they ensured that we had a smooth check-in by being in touch with us before-hand.

Decided to try out PodShare not because I couldn't afford a real hotel but mainly because I was working a stone's throw away and I wanted to experience the social aspect of staying at a hostel.
All in all it was ok but a lot of things could be improved.
For starters I couldn't book it using my company card so I had to use my own.
The showers especially were small and rickety. In general, the hostel was clean but worn from lots of use. The window was kept open all night and I was kept in a semi-awake state by the LA Metro light rail vehicles going onto the First Street bridge with their signature loud buzzer honking at all hours.
All in all a neat experience but one which reminded me that it's worth it to get your own hotel room.

I only stayed one night and was mostly only there when staff had gone home.
Pros:
-Bed was comfy and the pod space was very roomy
-Very close to Little Tokyo, about a 10minute walk
-Not far from downtown LA by car
-Kind and helpful staff
-Community kitchen (I did not get to use this but I thought it was a good feature)
Cons:
-The building is pretty run down
-You can really hear everything going on, the beds are not in rooms
-No privacy at all, not even a curtain to pull. This was unsettling as a woman
-Sheets had off putting odor
I think I was expecting to really just to need a bed and not much else. But I still felt disappointed. I think it would be nice if they could just hang a curtain to pull. Overall, if you’re really looking for a cheap option close to downtown LA, it’s going to be safer and more comfortable than some super shady hotels for similar prices. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay more than a night though

Even though I knew it would be shared room, There is no rooms, is all together the restrooms are very tight. And the place smells

I cancelled my booking over a month ago, yet received no refund. I was unable to contact a person to do so. I found your website totally opaque. So the bottom line is that I paid for a service that was not delivered, and when I next come through LA, I will seek accommodations elsewhere.

The bed was comfortable. The staff really friendly. Unfortunately only two toilets and two showers for too many people.

Kitchen a problem. Stove didn't work. No kettle. No spoons. Bed was fine but rather soft.

Make sure to ask or bring a blanket at the beginning of your stay. The beds only have a sheet and a thin cover. The first night I was freezing. Luckily, they did provide blankets when asked, and I was warm enough on my last night. There was also a hole on the floor at the bottom of the steps, which was carelessly covered by a carpet, if stepped on unknowingly, it could have led to an injury. When I told a staff member about it, she spent the afternoon filling it with paper towels and some cardboard with tape. It wasn’t exactly sturdy, but I appreciated her effort, and that they removed the carpet, making it visible for guests to be aware of.

I like that the bus stop was just a block away and several places to dine nearby!

First time staying in a dorm-like atmosphere and enjoyed it. Bed was much comfortable than in hotels 2-3 times more expensive.

Paid for parking, only to come back and it’s taken. Cool concept, but needs work. DTLA location convenient location, but the bathroom (toilet and showers) have roaches. Came back around midnight and wanted to shower only to find multiple roaches crawling. Employee came and took pictures. That’s about all I know, checked out the next morning.

It was a very nice stay! The only complaint I have is the a/c temp, they kept it a lil too chilly at night. However it’s a very small price to pay for such a nice place

Scary. Not like the ad represented.

Communal type accomodations set in Central Los Angeles. If this is your vibe-I definately consider PodStay. What I view that makes this place above the rest are well organized, great customer service and friendly guest that seems to respect personal space if you seek it.

I wasn't sure if he was going like it, but it ended up being a great experience. If privacy isn't an issue, you should really give it a shot. The staff are friendly and so is everyone else. If you want that authentic experience, this is it! The locals can point you in the direction to great local restaurants, bars and clubs.

I had a positive experience at Podshare DTLA. I checked in after quiet time started, but Ron who runs the place was kind and understanding. I was provided a towel to take a shower, and showered before bed. The showers are very nice, rainforest style showers. That was probably the best part. They also have a community kitchen, and I was provided free tea, and made myself a cinnamon almond butter half sandwich in the morning.
They have a large screen TV in the entertainment room, and I was able to catch the Roland Garros final after I made myself breakfast. I was also provided a free toothbrush and deodorant stick, which I did not expect.
The only major downside was that the bed sheets they provided were very either thin or small, and I woke up a few times in the night because I was too cold. The neighborhood is also in a pretty busy part of LA, so it’s hardly quiet at night. I definitely recommend having earplugs if you’re sensitive to sound.

Staff was very helpful, beds were comfortable, had plenty of room for my items. The location was in downtown where there's a growing night life on the eastside. I found overnight parking in front of Podshare. Spacious sitting area for eating, chilling, and using laptop. Amazing. Cheers.

Unique community living. Only there for a night but would be neat to stay longer

I've stayed for two nights and I'm satisfied with the experience. People respect each other and the quiet hour rule. It's a bit pity that the personal TV system doesn't work during my staying.

If you literally just want a place to sleep, and get ready this place should be fine. Just be aware, you’re sleeping with other people. There’s bound to be some noise here and there.
