This is a charming Inn in a 19th-century mansion, full of interesting architectural details and grandeur. On the main floor are dining and lounge areas, all with interesting furniture and art that speak to a different age. The host, Claudia, is lovely and attentive. She provided great recommendations for meals and activities in Petersburg, and was flexible about breakfast time. If you are bored with standard hotels, this is a relaxing escape to an intriguing and personable stay.

The owner, Claudia, was amazing. So helpful and kind. Parking in back was much appreciated, breakfast was freshly made, delicious and served in one of the beautifully decorated common areas. The room was comfortable and clean. The mansion is pre Civil War and furnished accordingly with antiques. If you're looking for modern hotel amenities you will be disappointed, but if you're looking for charm, warmth and a gracious host, you will love Ragland Mansion. Pet friendly as a welcome bonus!
