Helpful staff, fresh towels daily, nice lobby, decently safe
On the more expensive side and beds get pretty warm at night. Main complaint is that if you're coming with a suitcase there's not a safe place to put it - small lockers were provided but nothing for anything bigger than a backpack

Value for money so I can't complain as I already expected some nuances based on the reviews shared.
Just an update that towels are provided since some reviews say it isn't.
Easy check in and check out.

You have to provide for your slippers. We needed one since they have a policy that we cannot use the shower in our room after 10pm. Your option us to use the one at the ground floor and guest are lining up. Note that there are no elevators here so the unfortunate mixed dorm are situated at the top floor.
Just a tip, since those occupying the top floor can use the lockers at the ground, suggest to just bring with you a separate small bag that you can carry in your room good enough for the duration of your stay. Leave the heavy luggage at the lockers and pack your shopping there instead of bringing them.in your room.
Also, this is quite far from the station so after a long day with all the walking and shopping, just take a cab near ueno station. This is just 500 yen.

The staff and location
The lockers were a bit tricky and if you have a suitcase, it’s hard to open it in the room. It was very hot in the room.

Staffs are nice and helpful.
Narrow bunk. I stayed on the bottom bunk, and the ladder made it a bit difficult to get in and out because the space was quite tight.
Ridiculous rules. After you check out, you need to pay to store your luggage, and you are not allowed to use the lobby after checking out. I might have very limited experiences, but I’ve stayed in several hostels before, and this is the only hostel with these ridiculous rules.
