Second time staying here, can't imagine myself staying in any other hotel in Kyoto. The rooms are nice and spacious, the staff are helpful and accommodating, the location is exceptional. It's not the cheapest hotel out there but it's 100% worth it. Definitely staying here on my next visit to Kyoto.
The AC remote is entirely in Japanese. I had to mess around with some translation apps before figuring things out. Would be nice to have English instructions on how to use it. But this is a minor gripe and at worst a 3 minute problem.

Spacious rooms and plenty of dining facilities around the hotel
Centrally controlled air condition and take time to get hot water in the shower( we didn’t have hot water in the sink and we asked the reception staff to sort it out and they said that it was sorted and if the water is not warm advised to run shower water first.

It was clean and the bed comfortable
It wasn’t really a hotel. The room was very narrow and shower was minute and leaked under the door.
There was no restaurant or bar area so that was disappointing
