The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good, and the gardens at the back were wonderful. An upstairs room overlooking the garden is a must..!
I much prefer proper milk for tea rather than the plastic UHT stuff found in most hotels, so having help-yourself milk in the communal fridge on the landing is a great idea, but unfortunately it wasn't refilled often.

Lovely location and the building itself is beautiful. Our room was cute, beds comfy and the bathroom fantastic. Ended up ordering cooked breakfast which was well executed.
The local resident peacock kept us awake until late at night and then again from the early hours of the following morning which didn’t bother me as much as it bothered my friend. What I did not enjoy at all though was the nice continental breakfast buffet sat on the side with several flies crawling all over the soft cheese, meats and croissants. Completely gross. There is a simple solution to that which is domes and covers for the food to keep the flies away.
