Our stay here was a delight. The attention to detail given to the property is remarkable and made for a magical stay here. The customer service, cocktail hour and breakfast were equally impressive. Our evening walk through Ferndale was enchanting. This place makes the endorphins flow!!!

You must stay at least 2 nights. Watch Jim Carrey's The Majestic 2002 movie in your room on your computer.
Ask which road straight off main street gets you to fabulous deserted stretch of ocean in 15 minutes.
This place is fabulous. only a couple ghosts.

The town of Ferndale is cute, but very sleepy….Everything shuts down at 8pm. It would be nice if restaurants stayed open beyond 8pm during the summer season.

To stay in an old, finely appointed Victorian home like this place was a fun experience. I do have to say that Ferndale does not have a lot to offer restaurant wise but we made do with what was open on a Wednesday night. Our room itself, the Lilac Room, was roomy and comfortable although the bed, a queen, was at an unusual height to be able to just simply lay down. In addition to having to decide to roll into or use the provided stairs to get into it, it squeeked anytime either one of us moved in it. This was accompanied by the flooring providing its own squeek tone to the arrangement. On a more positive note, the happy hour of wine and cheese was a nice touch and the place overall was very clean. Thus our middle of the road review especially for the amount we paid.

This was a lovely stay. The staff was friendly & helpful. The inn was very nice. The scones at breakfast were wonderful. Would highly recommend staying here.
The bedroom was darling the beds were very high but nice step stool was there so no problem getting in/out. The beds were really soft!

We certainly enjoyed the location and the staff.
We checked in and then were welcomed to their tea and wine time with appropriate goodies for each.
Breakfast was yummy and filling with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, english muffins and an orange breakfast cake. We were the only guests for our 1 night.
We stayed in the Lilac room which was lovely. We did find the bamboo sheets to be quite slick and were easily untucked during the night. The beds were raised up, with steps provided to get into and out of bed. This mattress, unfortunately, had that proverbial dent in the middle so that we kept rolling to the middle. We would certainly stay again however not in the Lilac room : )
You should go and enjoy this lovely town.

and watching it in room then walking around asking locals where the sets had been built. Never stay here just 1 night. Absolute must be 2 nights or more.

The personal friendliness and attention of the staff was delightful. The bed was like a cloud, a cozy, warm cloud. Breakfasts were yummy. All the rooms, free wine and tea to enjoy in the evening, and getting to chat with the guests was great.

All good, except the sheets on the bed in the "Lilac" room popped off the corners; had to pull the bed together 3 times in the night... not so good. Also, that mattress has a pretty severe canoe dent in the center, just FYI.

Great trip back in time! Ferndale has quite a few Victorian houses, and the Gingerbread Mansion was one of the best! Great host, great room/suite! Just a few blocks from Main Street. Great area for walking and sightseeing. Shops were very hospitable.

It's everything and more than pictured or advertised! Every room in the house was just simply gorgeous! The service was fantastic. The tea and wine and desserts, cheese and crackers were such a refreshing treat after a long days travel. The rooms were beautiful and private we even had our own little deck a patio. The town was quite and beautiful as we walked around. We had an absolutely mouth watering fantastic meal just down the street. The town people were welcoming and friendly. I would live here if we could, but at the very least we will be back when ever possible!

I surprised my wife by staying here on the second day of our honeymoon. Not only is Ferndale a total Gem of a town but the Gingerbread mansion was the prize gem of any place i have ever stayed. Oh, and the breakfast was a big hit with my new bride.

We absolutely loved the Gingerbread House. When we pulled up they were painting the front steps. They apologized for our inconvenience and offered us an upgrade to our room. The bed and blankets were amazing. Best sleep ever!!! The decor in the house will keep u busy checking out every room. We were treated to a glass of wine and tasty snacks when we checked in and a delicious breakfast when we woke. Best night of our 2 week holiday.

I took my wife here for her birthday. This place was better than imagined and did not disappoint, it’s absolutely marvelous. My wife loved it and was so happy. I highly recommend it.

A pleasant step back in time in the delightful town of Ferndale. We were warmly welcomed just in time for afternoon tea - or wine had we preferred. Our room was comfortable and it was an easy stroll to the restaurant where we’d made reservations. The included breakfast was delicious. Only recommendation: Ferndale’s water is heavily chlorinated; provided bottled or filtered water would be most welcome.

The mansion was incredible and in excellent condition but to be honest the breakfasts were very underwhelming. I’m not sure if Covid it still effecting the service levels but it felts like breakfast on a small budget

Very beautiful place. Staff was nice. Doorbell didn’t work.
Our room was stuffy and could have used a fan.
WiFi was unstable and unusable most of the time.
They need faster better Internet and maybe range Extenders.
The grounds are a little run down and shabby.

Excellent service from Angel who checked us in. She actually took the time to tell us about the house. Very professional and kind.
The property was fine if you like a super old, dark, and likely haunted. The bed was fine, bathroom clean, no complaints except it was old, which we knew going in. I think we’ve just been spoiled by some pretty incredible experiences at old, revitalized B&B’s, so we were a bit surprised by the overall condition.
The food was horrendous. No words. Would skip and eat in town.
