The check in chicken process was quick and easy. Found our room very comfortable and nicely furnished. The bed was a bit hard for my taste but I slept OK. The grab and go breakfast was minimal, but we were meeting friends for breakfast somewhere else. The checkout process was quick and painless. All of the employees we dealt with were very friendly and professional.

Check in was easy, even though it was late night the ladies at the front desk were helpful and kind. Room was clean and towels were fluffy and nice. No dishes, but they can be arranged for use in room if you need them. Full size fridge. Comfortable bed.

This is a hotel with a great location. The staff is great and friendly. I-435 is around the corner and you can pretty much get anywhere in KC in less than 30 minutes. Oak Park Mall is less than 10 minutes driving. Legends Mall is 15-20 minutes driving. The breakfast lounge is tiny and would be better if it offered more options for breakfast. The room has a small kitchen and sink with an average size fridge where you can put your food if you plan on preparing your own meals. There is plenty of places to visit....such as KC Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Hockey, etc. We reserved this hotel for my daughter's soccer tournament at Scheels Soccer Complex. The price for the hotel is very affordable and convenient.

Check in was okay however when I went back for an extra key Chris was on her phone and after 5 mins I finally spoke up and asked for some help. She seemed bothered, threw her phone down, and asked what my name was. When I got to the room, the room was not clean and smelled like cigarettes. The shower did not work properly nor did the TV (no signal). To make it even better, there was music/yelling all night so no one was able to sleep. Tried looking elsewhere but due to soccer tournaments all over town, nothing was available.

This was a Sh__ Hole! Don't stay here! The room smelled like Dog P__! The floors were filthy. There was no cups in the room, no hangers, no coffee maker and it cost 2 dollars for bottle of water...if the machine doesn't take your money! Which forget about getting your money back. The day shift clerk was a total A__ Hole! I had to beg for 2 glasses. The hotel doesn't own the vending machine, so they have NO control over the machine. There was 7 lights in the king size room and only 3 worked! So it was dark, smelly and extremely disappointing to have to stay the night there. It was right across the street from the hospital, where my husband was having surgery. Drive a few next minutes down the road! And save yourself the awful experience I will never stay in am American Extended Stay hotel, ever again!! The only plus for this hotel was the was comfortably.

We were so disappointing to find such a run down hotel in the middle of Overland Park. There were stains on the carpeting and appliances. The counter is de-laminating. The light in the bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Just over all dirty with bent up appliances. The elevator and hallway leading to our room (342) was filthy. I understand that they don't provide room service for short stays but they should be vacuuming and cleaning the rest of the place.

Chris at the front desk was so helpful. She was very understanding since my daughter and son in law had to get the hotel because their son is in the NICU. She was extremely nice and helpful!

Our favorite hotel to stay at when we travel in this area! Love the convenience of a full kitchen. Super clean rooms and building. Feel super safe there- the outside entrances close at 11pm. You cave to call for entrance after that, an extra layer of security!

There were roaches in my room. Bathroom floor hadn’t been mopped before I checked in. My feet stuck to the floor. Corners of room needed vacuumed.

They weren’t not accommodating for any changes. I understand that they don’t have to do anything, but they weren’t willing to even listen or check into situations.
We had a nonsmoking room and it smelled like smoke. Like they had just bombed to cover the smell. Not just our room but the halls, walls, and floor was so dirty, unkempt.
It was a yucky feeling. The bedding was that wet, like they were trying to dry in the room with the air conditioning. I’m so thankful it was just my husband and I and we didn’t bring our children. It was just uncomfortable and we were only there for one night! I wouldn’t recommend.

Bed was hard. Could. Ot recliner to recline. No dish ware in room. Needed deposit for coffee maker. Roach in bathroom, drawers in dresser did not stay closed. Went to desk to get dish ware, no one was there. Could not leave trash in room, had to place in “trash room”. Morning of departure we went outside our room, hallway stunk (our room across from trash room). Opened the door and trash was all over the floor and we gagged on the Stench.

Ruslan was great during the check-in process and got us all of the soaps we needed. It was appreciated after 11 hours on the road in a hot U-Haul.

My bathroom was dirty, had a horrible smell. The toilet made a loud screeching noise when you flushed it. I had a dead spider in my shower.

Check in was slow and tedious. Had two rooms under one reservation and both had to sign in. Floor in room was sticky near kitchen and bathroom. One room smelled of a wet cat. Some folks in hotel were a bit dodgy. Disappointing overall. Glad it wasn' t an extended stay at Extended Stay ...

It was a last minute reservation and they were able to accommodate us on the fly. Beautiful room. We also had my husband's support dog and they were more than accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

Absolutely horrible! First of all the front desk person was beyond rude! The air conditioning did not work! It was at least 80 all night long. We asked if there was anyway it could be fixed and we were told the maintenance guy lived an hour away, but they had a couple fans they could give us. Unreal. Beds were hard as a rock and it smelled like cigarettes in the hallway, along with the cigarette holes that were burned in the chair. And there was also food in the sink. Horrible all the way around!

Its a fairly clean outdated hotel that needs upgrades. It's rather outdated. Needs better lighting. Dim lighted hallways. Very dark and gloomly. Needs to be given a fresher look. Needs paint, new carpet, bathrooms, kitchen, televisions. My room was comfortable, but had a strange odor. Television needed new remote, had 2 lamps that didnt work, bathroom sink didn't have a stopper. Staff was nice and efficient. It was in a great location. I will probably find another place to stay next time unless they gut the place and start over new. It needs some serious attention if they want customers to have an "extended stay".

Don't stay here!!! The front desk guy was rude, didn't even look at my reservation which already paid for or that I had reserved 2 rooms on the first floor due to recent back surgery. He then said "it will be a few minutes, the housekeepers need to clean 2" This is at 3pm and rooms not cleaned! After waiting a half hour He told me "You are just gonna have to stay on the third floor because the housekeepers are not going to clean 2 rooms" What? Are you kidding me> "Your housekeepers tell you what they will or will not do" He then proceeded with very inappropriate attitude stating "Take the rooms or leave" Unfortunately we were in need of showers etc to be in time for our visitors engagement to KC. When I finally got to my room: the room smelled like some ones body odor! the exhaust fan in the bathroom was soooo loud I could not use it and had to get ready in the dark. The lamps did not work and the refrigerator kept making popping noises all night. What a horrible experience for this elderly woman.

First of all, we came into the building and all the lights to the lobby were off. We waited for someone to come out for at least five minutes, then gave the hotel a call and still no one. We called one more time and then I had to yell out "hello" before someone finally came from the back. The computer messed up when we were getting checked in so they had to call someone and get that fixed. We reserved a two bed and they informed us they did not have any two bed so we had to get a one bed room. We finally made it up to our room and our sheets looked like there was blood on them. The blankets were nothing but sheets and the whole hotel smelled like mildew or cat pee or a combo of both. The management seriously needs to do something about this hotel. If you don't want to give customers good service you just need to close it up and lock the doors because the things that were below par are basic things that management would be able to take care of. I will never stay here again unfortunately.

Close to our family across the major street into a residential area. Well lit and traffic signals and sidewalks made walking to visit relatives very easy and convenient. We were disappointed in the amenities--eg, coffee maker but no filters. No dish soap or handtowels so we couldn't make use of the kitchen facilities. Pillows were lousy but bed was comfortable.
