Came for a baseball tournament and the rooms are clean, service was great and amenities are good. Would recommend this as a central place to stay while in Kamloops.

Great inexpensive breakfast on site. Convenient 1 block walking to 5 good restaurants. Quiet with pool, hot tub, electronic game room and pool tables.

The parking sign states a clearance of 6’6” and my suv is just over 6’1”. However the roof of my suv made contact with something in the parking area and I now have a dent and the paint is scraped. I emailed the hotel and called and have yet to hear back. That was December 29!! Other than that the stay was good. The lady at the front desk as very nice . The neighborhood is a little sketchy though.

Pidgeons squeaking and pooping on window ledge. Breakfast was $8 for cold sausage and eggs. Cheap cheap . Next time will be staying at thedelta more money but probably worth it

The Thompson Hotel in Kamloops,BC is a hidden gem. Located conveniently downtown, they offer amazing prices and the amenities are the best in town. Pool, Hot Tub, Arcade, Theatre, etc. Can not rave about this place enough!! Family friendly but also great for solo and couples!! Thank you!

I didnt like how i couldn't even check in for my sister and neice being the account holder and authorizing my credit card for the incidentals and payment and being told its not allowed if im not staying there with her at that exact moment. When i was in the middle of a big move. We went elsewhere and had no issues at all

We were there for a curling bonspiel so, having the hotel right next door to the rink, was amazing.

When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice young man. Being it was only 1pm, he said our room was ready and we could have the keys right away. We settled in then went to pickup our grandkids to come for a swim with us and play in the arcade. My only complaint is that when we went down for breakfast at 6:30, the start time, we were told the bistro people were running late. So we went up to room and packed but by the time we came down, they were still going to be 20 min before they arrived. This would mean at least 40 min until we could eat. We chose to go somewhere else for our breakfast. Also 1 pack of coffee in the room is not enough especially if you do not offer it in the lobby like most other hotels do!

Small rooms, small bathrooms with no fan. Hotel has thin walls. Can hear everything between rooms. We had our 8 month old with us and hope we didn't disturb guests. Overall not bad. But breakfast was a bust! Time to step it up Thompson!

The good things: bed was decent. Bedding was ok (sheets kept sliding off the corner of mattress, exposing the mattress - kind of gross). Planned to sleep until 6 but awoken at 4 due to neighbours using the washroom - could hear every step and water running in their room. They weren’t even being loud, but the floors don’t seem to have insulation. Thought someone was in my room as I could hear someone blowing their nose. Trains are loud. I’ve stayed in far nicer places for cheaper in Vancouver so was absolutely shocked when the front end person said $211 plus taxes was a good price (I never asked but they threw this comment in while we checked in). Absolutely not worth that. Perhaps Kamloops price gouges on hotels, but that doesn’t make it a good value. It’s an old hotel. It’s priced as if it’s been updated enough to justify, but it’s not. Location is decent but parking has no security whatsoever. Small rooms. Staff were pleasant.

The staff was courteous and helpful. The location is not safe lots of vagrants in the area, I did not feel safe. I was worried about leaving my car in the car park. I recommend choosing a different hotel in a safer location.

Stayed for two nights and enjoyed my time. Staff was very accommodating and the rooms were small but perfect for two people. My favourite part was how close it is to so many delicious restaurants and shops. I loved being able to walk everywhere!!

I feel as though I got ‘catfished’ by the Thompson Hotel. The photos look as though the hotel is a bit more updated than it actually is. The room was fine, but old. The beds/pillows were uncomfortable and the entire bed shook (to the point of waking me up) when a train went past. The hotel is in a bit of a rough area, and a car was broken in to when I left for my conference in the morning. My suggestion would be that for the price, I could likely find something in a better area.

The location is terrible - unsafe area with many homeless people and drug users. The front desk had referred my wife to the Seven Eleven around the corner to pick up milk. The short walk was scary and unsafe and she had to wait there for me to come and pick her up. We parked our car at the complimentary hotel parking lot only to discover the following morning that someone had shattered one of the windows. The hotel staff did alert the local police but failed to notify us until we came down to check out. Upon discussion with the hotel staff, we discovered what a bad area the hotel is located in and even the hotel staff wouldn’t dare to walk around the area - let alone to the Seven Eleven around the corner. The hotel staff was very sympathetic to our situation but on the other hand did not offer any assistance. This was a very bad experience for us and purely for safety reasons we urge everyone to seek accommodation elsewhere - probably best not in Kamloops.

We were downgraded from a suite to a basic room and were forced to pay the suite price. Everything else was great, but Sandy the manager is quite the shifty character. We noticed two other families experienced something similar the very same day. Be careful dealing with this hotel.

The queen beds were more like double beds, was nice I liked that we were able to get a cot for the room. For continental breakfast that was mentioned on the site we had to pay for.
