Old world type hotel - nicely renovated - city centre location - very friendly helpfull staff

I would give the Imperial Hotel and its staff 10 stars if I could. It is true that it is in a perfect location, the rooms are beautiful and well-appointed and the hotel, overall, is just majestic. For me, however, it was the compassionate care that the staff showed me. Due to a sudden illness of my father, I had to leave Ireland immediately, and the front desk - both day and evening - did everything they could to ensure that I left Cork safely, off to Dublin and then back to NYC as soon as I could and they took care of me, while I grieved. They also refunded my last night, even though I had paid in full - the care they showed me is more than anything I could have asked for and I will be only staying at The Imperial when in Cork. I hope to go back and thank the front desk in person. Thank you to you all - I am so grateful.

Absolutely beautiful hotel and very comfortable bed. The elevator didn't work so we ended up having to shlep stairs when we arrived, which was a pain, but it worked the next time around. Also the internet was down which was pretty frustrating for trip planning, although they said that was the service provider, not them so not sure they can be blamed. Great location.

The devil is in the detail, and unfortunately on this occasion I felt the Imperial lacked that extra due care and attention
Overall staff were friendly and the hotel was clean, well located and comfortable.
I booked a double room and was given a triple, which wasn't particuarly nice and was at the back of the hotel over some kind of generator which kept me from sleeping. There was no guest guide with details of wifi or room service provided in the room, which meant when I called for room service on the morning of my departure i was told it wasn't available and I had 6 minutes to get downstairs.

Love our weekend stay with the wife the staff were 100% friendly and always went above and beyond for us we had to check out at 12:30pm and our flight was not till 10pm they kept our bags safe and even somewhere private we could get changed before the flight we will definitely be back fell in love with Ireland and more so cork ❤️

We stay here when on business in Cork. Hotel is lovely. Comfortable. Very central and good value generally. I’m not a fan of attic rooms as limited ceiling space. Our room although billed as a de luxe was dark with small window. No heating in the bathroom which was a little chilly in the mornings! Breakfast and dinner nicely cooked and presented. Limited gluten free options though which was a problem for us.

Great location and a nice room. The experience doesn’t reflect the 4 star rating in 2 respects: 1) brown water ran from the bath faucet and, when I rang reception, the receptionist was nonchalant to say the least, and 2) service at breakfast was very unprofessional. I waited 10 minutes to order a cup of coffee, as the waitress was too busy discussing her college course with a colleague within my earshot. When l got to order coffee and it finally arrived, it had spilled into the saucer, and the waitress simply walked off. The restaurant needs better trained staff, and better supervision.

We reserved a Premium Double Room with a Queen Bed that shows on both Expedia and the Imperial websites. We did not receive that room. We received a Classic Room.
We did not get what we paid for. We would never have booked the room had we known it was the room we would receive.
Did I mention that our thermostat was broken, and we had to call down every time we needed the temperature changed? Also, they do not have a light over the mirror in the bathroom.
I will never recommend The Imperial and will think twice before using Expedia for future reservations.

Location is excellent. The front staff are incredibly helpful and aware of what one might need. The hotel is lovely and well maintained. Housekeeping staff were also great.
It is difficult to judge the restaurant as we had only one meal, but on the basis of that meal we decided not to have breakfast there, especially since the cost was the highest we say in 4 weeks in Ireland.
On the basis on this three days stay we would certainly stay there again.

We had a very nice room. The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful chandeliers. The bar was nice and we had a very good dinner in the restaurant.

This hotel advertises having air conditioning and ours did not work. There was no solution to fixing this problem. Don't advertise AC if it doesn't work. During a hot summer trip this was very inconvenient.

Perfect location for getting around, but parking was a pain, both for unloading luggage and for storing car. Staff was helpful. Air conditioning needs upgrade.

Of all my travels this was the best i have experienced. The lobby is beautiful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was 1st class. I loved the area with all the dining options. The only draw back was the parking, about a 1/4 mile away with no valet option. Aimee was so nice. Appreciated her professionalism.

Beautiful hotel with an incredible history. Although I did have to take a taxi from the train station, it was worth the stay! Received an upgrade - although the windows were frosted, so not much of a view. PLENTY close to shopping, restaurants and downtown! Also, not a far walk to catch my excursion with Paddywagon tours. A very wonderful stay!

Lovely reception staff! I was informed I got an upgrade on my room! It was a fantastic room! Very comfortable bed! I had an issue with the sink stopper which they fixed when I brought the attention of the concierge. Great cocktail bar staff! A special mention to Reece for recommendations on drinks and venues around Cork town.

We stayed in Room 103 and it wasn't a very pleasant stay. Windows have an opaque film on them, presumably to block the "view" outside so barely any natural light coming in, this coupled with the fact that the room is really small made it feel really claustrophobic. We left the air con on when we went out for a couple of hours and we were greeted by a revolting smell when we returned. There are far too many cushions on the bed, with the room being so small they took up a lot of floor space when we took them off at night. Check out took longer than was necessary. The best thing the hotel has going for it is its central location. Ideal if you did want to return to your room during the day
