The manager was very put out by us having a dog with us. He made a big deal about the $60 Laura Ashley quilt. Apparently it was a hassle for him to change to the “dog friendly” quilts. He went on and on about our dog being there and was rude about it. This place allows dogs but they are by no means dog friendly. If you have furry ones, find another place. I highly recommend the Scandia Motel in Carlsbad just up the road.

Older building in need of some repairs in the room and upgrades. Bathroom very awkward and a lot of noise from the street. Parking is a little bit difficult. The area is OK but nothing great.

We’ve stayed here before and love the facility, location and good nearby places to eat, drink and view the ocean. Electronic communication b3gween the hotel, hotels.com and guests could use some improvement.

Wonderful place to stay with a very comfortable bed and a room that includes a kitchenette, which is so helpful! Great walkable location near tons of restaurants and only a block from the ocean! The staff go above and beyond to ensure that you have a great stay!

The building is an adorable, early 20th century spanish-style roadside inn on the outside with some less adorable more recent updates on the inside. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, there's a table to eat at and a small kitchen with an electric range, pots and pans and two table settings. It's right on the main drag so there is some road and amtrak/coaster noise that we found easy to ignore. Overall this place is great and we would absolutely stay here again. We love the area and the gentleman at the front desk was kind and helpful.

Rooms are overpriced as they are extremely small and parking is very limited among other inconveniences: The the stove in the kitchenette takes forever to heat, it is very dated; you get one spoon and 5 knifes, half fork. The room has no actual heating; a heater which requires an unsafe extension cord is provided. The bathroom is extremely small. The mattress is very uncomfortable. Paper thin walls you can hear people slamming doors. All other motels provide a card to access the room but here you get a key. There is a pet fee yet there are no water bowls or relief areas; let alone a park within reasonable walking distance. There is no actual close beach, rather a 30 min walk including some unsafe cliffs and it is full of pebbles and very dirty. Rude owner will harass you during your naps for being parked within one millimeter of the parking line yet at night he does not check for he humongous trucks using two entire parking spots. No disabled parking. There is a coaster train that makes noise at night that will wake you up at least twice. This is really more like a passing through one-night emergency stay, not an actual place to rest, you have to drive to get to amenities. I recommend a Motel 6 instead of this place so you don't feel like in european hostel. For the price they charge, buffet breakfast should be included. Avoid if possible.

I loved staying here. Very cute boutique motel near the beach. Quiet! My queen suite was ample sized. Very comfy bed. Table and chairs , kitchenette, full bath, full closet. Excellent location. Will definitely stay here again!!!

I had a wonderful experience staying at Leucadia Beach Inn! I booked two rooms - one for myself and my two kids, and another for my parents. Since my mother uses a wheelchair, I asked the management to provide accessible rooms close to each other, and they were extremely accommodating. My parents were able to check in easily even before I arrived. The location was beautiful and I am grateful to the staff for their exceptional service.

This place is such a cute little beach Inn. It had everything we needed and the little market just steps away was awesome not to mention the closeness of the restaurants. Will definitely stay again if back in the area. Less than 10 minutes from Legoland and super affordable. Thanks to Mark for your great hospitality and greeting upon check-in.

Great Everytime. Mark is the best host. Super grocery on corner, unique restaurants to walk to. Quiet, although a train goes by once in awhile. They try so hard to keep things nice, workable, make you feel like family.

Very nice, simple, convenient property in the heart of Leucadia. Mark is very nice and friendly. Easy in and out. Very basic rooms. Bed and in-room heating were only ok. All else was very nice.

We had a great stay at the Leucadia Beach Inn. It was comfortable and the staff were hospitable. I loved the beautiful doors and the fountains in the courtyard. The shower was better than the majority of hotel showers I've used-- great water pressure and heat! The area around the inn is very cute and we had some great meals both a short drive away and within walking distance.

Needed a room for a concert at The Sound(which is an AWESOME venue). It is reasonably priced and not too far from the venue. It is the cutest well kept and managed boutique hotel. Was greeted by Dan at check in, what a kind gentleman. We reserved a queen size room which came with a kitchenette. Walking distance to many nearby restaurants. I would definitely be staying here again the next time we are Encinitas 😊

There could be more hooks and bars especially in the bathroom to make hanging towels and clothes easier. There is plenty of room in the rooms. The kitchenettes are especially good The neighborhood is nice

Even though I arrived late for check in, they were able to accommodate me. I able to get inside my room easy without any hassle. The staff was kind and willing to answer any questions we had. Place was clean and homey. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a charming little hotel. It is pretty clean, though there were a couple of cobwebs at the ceiling and near the back of the headboard on the bed. The bed itself has a mattress that has probably never been rotated, thus the side closest to the nightstand the mattress had a premanent dip in it. the other side of the bed was quite comfortable. The most difficult thing about this room was keeping the temperature comfortabe. It is October during my stay. So during the day the room heats up, you cant really leave the windows open at night, because of the noise of the trains that run at night as well as day. Train track is across the street. The AC is an older wall unit so it didn't seem to come on unless you set it to the lowest setting. I found myself either freezing or sweating most of the night. I did like the hotel, the neighborhood is safe and as cute coffee shops, restaurants around it. There is no provision for recycling, which is negligent in this day and age. Parking is very tight on and around the hotel.

We absolutely loved this hotel! It is located within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, shopping. I have already booked us another stay there in December. It is so welcoming and warm and so quaint. We just loved it! Definitely recommend this family owned establishment!! Each room is more like a beach cottage.

This was an AWESOME find. Front desk staff was super friendly, and we had a great time. I'm usually a "chain" hotel person, using points at the big box properties... so this was really a refreshing stop. Rooms were clean - kitchenette was cool... everything worked... and the location was perfect. Funky old-school vibe, that was really SoCal. Walked to a couple nice restaurants... a couple of dives... again, great location. If you need a Ritz-Carlton, this ain't your place... but it was perfect for our trip to the area. Will definitely stay again!

My cousin and I had a girl's weekend and it was an amazing stay! Beds were super comfortable, room was like mini apartment and had all we needed for our stay. TV had good channel selections, fast Wi-Fi and toiletries were good quality. Variety of dining options, bars, coffee shops all within walking distance.The hotel has onsite parking and if you require anything management was prompt to fulfill your request. Friendly, fresh and historic...we adored our experience and will definitely return!
