Lovely hotel, very nice rooms, a very comfy sleep. Very good all round

Nice Hotel, but poor stay. Internet was very poor, constantly cutting out and disconnecting on any device (laptop/phone). Poor nights sleep for an early work start as I was given a room with adjoining door to another guest. They were not particularly loud, but the door offered little to reduce any sounds/noise.

This was our third stay at The Gables, we had a four poster bedroom this time, which was lovely. In the bathroom there was a spa bath, unfortunately the spa part wasn't working.

A nice friendly run hotel. Quick good check in, the room was ok but just needed a bit of attention in some areas. The shower was brilliant with good water pressure. The restaurant is a Marco Pierre White franchise and the steak was nice. A lot of customers ordered a pizza and did look really nice, so maybe next time. The staff were all friendly and polite.

The hotel was good, the restaurant is overpriced both for food and wine and the food mediocre at best.

In room refreshments meager, breakfast for allergies poor. Wifi didn’t work no matter what we tried.

Hotel clean staff friendly, looking dated

A good location for visiting Dursley, Wotton, or Thornbury. Plus conveniently located near an M5 junction. However, there isn’t much else around the hotel.

Have stayed here before. Ideal location just off the M5 at junction 14 but not the quietest for traffic noise. Room was very comfortable and clean. Disappointing that there are no lite bites of an evening in the bar. We were offered to book in the restaurant but we do not like Italian food. A good choice for breakfast, continental and full English buffet, however as I said on my previous visit it isn't kept very warm! Neither was the water for tea and coffee. It would have been nice to extend our stay but unfortunately our room was booked.

Cold bedroom, lots of road noise. No shower gel in the relevant container. No iron or ironing board. Old tired decor. Only dim side lights in bedroom, difficult to work by this light. Noise from interconnected room, which was not booked as well.

Great hotel very clean and staff welcoming, evening meal was excellent, although breakfast could have been hotter.

Room very average, small and not particularly friendly for the listed price. Duvet too small for bed. Bathroom and toilet needed attention. Shower difficult to operate, toilet did not flush properly and lid would not stay up. Very accommodating staff but restaurant menu too expensive and not really suitable. We weren’t told that a bar snack was available.

Arrived at hotel in afternoon , 5 minute checked in at reception , room ok but dated , carpet ok , booked 4 poster room but was just average really , bed just modern pine , car park view , One packet of 3 biscuits on tea tray between 2 of us , Jacuzzi bath , on using this at end of day was mortified to see dead insects coming out of holes so emptied it and made swift exit , Breakfast ok , plenty to chose from but ot hot as self service buffet , no table service at all have to make own tea and coffee too , think a pot of tea brought to table would be nice , heard others saying same , Room was noisy at nightime as had large Rotary event going on with music and mikes , wasnt told at check in , on the whole ok for 1 night , didnt see any staff on check out , def missing the personal customer service touch sadly

Very convenient location, close to an M5 exit. Very conveniently located for the places I wanted to visit, such as Slimbridge & Westonbirt

One night stay over for business. Easy to find and pleasant enough. Room fine, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly. Good breakfast. Reasonable value.

The Hotel is currently carrying out some renovations which did not affect our stay. The restaurant food was good but the menu could do with adding some traditional English fayre. Totally enjoyed our stay and the staff are really good. Will stay again

Fairly New Hotel, Two storey. Clean & tidy, small room. Restaurant very busy, excellent food & service.

I was given an upgraded room, very nicely decorated and equiped. Bathroom very nice but no bath.

Hotel and staff were great very polite and helpful. Hotels.com location information that links to maps was terrible. However the staff were on hand to help.

Awful receptionist rude and not welcoming building outdated and dirty … our party asked for a room to be made available as we where needing to change for a wedding locally got told it was fine …arrived and the receptionist charged us £20 …. When we had already paid for the room

Staff were lovely and friendly. Bar food and breakfast was really good. Bed was really comfy and had a great nights sleep. The only think that let it down was a tired looking bathroom but you can see work is under way to refurbish them. So would stay again 😃
