DeanGate Motel is modern and by and large clean. It turns out my room was an "Economy" room. It shared a bathroom with 3 other rooms which I understood at the time of booking and had no problem with. However there were a few things which if addressed would have made my stay more enjoyable. First the sink was not clean it had stains in it the nature of which I cannot be sure of. Second there is no wardrobe/rail/hangers to keep your clothes neat and finally the shower is an over the bath type. Sadly no non-slip mat was provided which is an absolute must for a stand in the bath type of shower. Therefore I cannot recommend this accommodation

Did everything we wanted, very clean. Nice to have the tea, coffee and biscuits. Next to a police station which was reassuring.
Quiet location within easy walk of the town (excellent Thai restaurant btw)
It was a warm night and the room was a little stuffy

We stayed for two nights with our dog. We had a room which opened straight onto the path/carpark,which was ideal with the dog. Parking was easy directly in front of the room . The room was spotlessly clean with a comfy bed,free WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. 5 minute walk to town centre .

There was no staff at the front desk!! The place was old but the room was bigger then normal rooms. No restaurants near by. Noisy street out front!

They were kind enough to accommodate us with a late check in since we were arriving late. No one was at the front desk even after 11 am the next day

I got a single room with a shared bathroom and it was great for the price. After being in hostels for the past week it was luxury to be able to shut and lock my door. Was clean and quiet

Perfect for my stay, walkable to Tesco (5mins) and Lydney town (10mins), plenty of parking, friendly staff. Tea and coffee facilities in room

I was greeted with a smile from a lovely lady and her daughter putting up a xmas tree by check in. I couldn't ask for anything better. I'll certainly be staying there again 😁

I liked its convenient closeness to the Forest of Dean which is filled with wonderful walks and picnic spots.
My personal favorite is the River Severn and its docks with it's many moods and long river-side walks. There is now a cafe and toilets there.

Room wasn’t serviced on our second day. Was told it’s due to covid and they only service rooms if requested. That’s ok if they tell you about this policy; it’s very difficult when you need toilet rolls and toiletries replenishing. A simple notice in the room is all that is required. The room was ‘clean’ but would benefit from an occasional deep clean

Had a double room which had bad stains on the carpet and chairs, the bathroom wasn’t clean and the silicone around the shower was black and mouldy. Could here the people on both sides of the walls talking and watching television as I doubt there’s any insulation between the walls, whole place needs a makeover!

Easy to find, Excellent condition inside and out, Did not have breakfast so cannot comment. Otherwise very impressed. Also short 5 minute walk to a pub.

Perfect for what I wanted. A one night stay in a clean comfortable room. I didn’t sample the continental breakfast but then again there was no information as to what it comprised of.

We stayed for one night as we was attending a music event nearby.
The stay was enjoyable the room and motel itself and grounds were very clean and accessible to the town.
The manager on arrival was friendly and very helpful with any questions or requests.

Neat & Tidy. Ideal for my business stay of just me. Beware, and nothing directly to do with the hotel, but booking a taxi before 10am is impossible, no uber, all the private hires on school runs
