This is a lovely hotel in Courtenay. Right next to a bridge across river to Comox. Outdoor pool facility was really nice on chilly winter days and there are lots of pool towels available. Parking is easily found around the property. The room was lovely and we really appreciated the kitchenette so that we could arrange for our own smaller meals (has microwave, large under-counter fridge, toaster, kettle and all the items you’ll need like can openers, chopping board, dish soap etc). Room was large but oddly only had double beds; two queens could easily fit.

Outdoor pool and hotub as well as tea, coffee and snacks available in the lobbies was a great surprise.
We didnt receive a doggie welcome as advertised and a desk agent was a bit rude the times my family and I went to the pool, but other than that it was a nice place to stay.

The overall stay was great - it's my go-to place to stay while I am in for business.
A safe place, with great amenities, and close to restaurants and town. The rooms are nice and big if you want to host people or stay in the kitchen.
This stay though wasn't as clean as previous stays. The teapot still had dishwater in it, and the living room had some dust and it seemed to get a touch up then a proper clean.
The room is also dated. As someone who travels for business a lot, I am looking for more USB A/C ports and better outlet proportions throughout the room. The room was also in the other building with further access to the other amenities, potentially a personal preference to make for next time. The room was also smaller than the main buildings and the same price as the main building rooms. Overall though good experience

We kind of got sucked in by the advertising. Wonderful, it was just ok. It appeared old and felt old inside. No couch, 1 good chair plus a table and 2 chairs, the beds were ok and cleaned. No restaurant just a coffee machine and few cookies. No breakfast of any kind.
The staff was very polite, pleasant. Cannot recommend.

We love staying here. It is comfortable and cozy and the hot tub is always a nice treat. What I did not like about my stay this time is that the clock in my bedroom had an alarm set for 5am!! I was not happy to be woken up so early 😒 I will definitely be unplugging the clock next time, just in case!

Worked well for my unique circumstances.

Honestly the entire stay was amazing. The room was clean and had all of the amenities that we could want. The bed was super comfortable and the atmosphere was peaceful. We had spa booked for our first night and the ladies who helped us at the spa were 12/10 for service. They really went above and beyond to make sure that we had an amazing experience. The pool and hot tub facilities were perfect as well.
My only negative comment would have to be the check-in experience at the front desk. We arrived early and thought we would TRY for an early check in - no harm if it didn't work out. When we arrived the two front desk attendants were chatting to each other and actually ignored us until they were finished their conversation. 😳 there was also garbage (candy wrappers) behind the front desk.
When I asked about an early check in - the one front desk agent actually rolled her eyes. The other was friendly but definitely let it be known that we were early and being an incovinience. I have never experience a check-in like that before but thankfully the rest of the stay only got better.
The front desk agent who did our check out was extremely friendly and professional.

We had a great stay here! Room was nice, clean and amenities were fantastic!

A pleasant enough stay for a couple of nights to explore the Comox valley. The kitchenette was useful. Staff were helpful if you asked something of them, but weren’t overly forthcoming. Courtenay isn’t the nicest of towns and has limited eating options.

We love the Old House Hotel in so many ways and would give it 5 stars - but - unless you have the river front rooms there are no opening windows to enjoy the fresh Comox Valley air

Centrally located and in a beautiful setting. We were in their second building which wasn't as nice as I remember the main building being but it was still good for the price. The alarm clock in our suite went off at 0600 on Sunday morning - which was not appreciated. The silver lining is that we watched the sun rise over the river. We will stay at this hotel again.

We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and heated pool even in the rain. The coffee/latte machine and apples and/or cookies in the lobby were well enjoyed. The studio room in the main building was spacious with small kitchenette. It was generally clean but will soon need a thorough vacuum and steam-clean. We enjoyed the room’s electric fireplace and large television on the rainy days.
Bath and separate shower in the bathroom and use of fluffy, white robes was nice.
Neighbouring Locals restaurant was a lovely spot to eat with beautiful and delicious meals/desserts but we were late getting our reservation in so we had to eat quite late.

Nice clean big room, friendly staff, outdoor heated pool. Unfortunately could only stay 1 night.

The actual “Old House” is flanked by two modern and commodious wings with well equipped large rooms. Excellent service as you would expect from a first class spa. Recommended to us by friends in Parksville who use the facility as a welcome retreat.

Nice people , very friendly and helpfull, very clean .
one point less good , the bridge nearby makes lots of noice when cars are passing.
that made that we have to keep the windows closed in the night. with closed windows it was ok

We had a very pleasant stay. However, we noted that the rooms are looking a little dated. The dining chairs could be replaced (padding in the seats have completely collapsed). Removing the heavy dark valances and curtains would also be a big improvement. Just a little bit of a facelift would be in order.

Very friendly staff that offered a gracious & hospitable check in. Spacious room and comfortable beds. Love the amenity options even though we didn’t have time
to use them.
Toiletries also were quality.

This is a little gem of a hotel in Courtenay. Rooms are big, quiet, pool is lovely and a great location in the town. Little things like a coffee machine and cookies in the lobby sometimes make all the difference. Full kitchen and closets, bath robes, and lots of pillows. Make this day even better. Love this hotel, have stayed here many times and will come back.

We stayed at this property for three nights, and everything about our stay was wonderful. It's a beautiful property and very well maintained. We had a one-bedroom suite that was equipped with every little item we could think of: umbrella for rain (which we didn't need, thankfully), magnified makeup mirror, even salt and pepper shaker in our kitchen. Our only comment was that the room was a bit on the small side. We loved the endless supply of coffee, etc in the lobbies and the afternoon cookies. Staff was awesome, and we'd highly recommend a stay here.

While the hotel and pools are lovely - our room was located right beside the 17th Street bridge.
Very noisy traffic. The front desk staff staff is warm and friendly. Cookies and hot drinks in the lobby were appreciated!
I give the hotel a very good rating and the spa is excellent - but suggest asking for a quiet room.
