After I’d booked the accommodation on a non cancellable basis I realised that parking was available for free if you were happy to park on narrow streets or £15 if you parked on a secure car park . When I arrived I was concerned about the safety of the area when I was met by an extremely drunk man that staff members were trying to remove. I therefore agreed to pay the £10 fee to park on one of the drives of the properties forming part of the complex. I have a large saloon car and I struggled to get the car into a space . So I would say if you have a large car that you are concerned for then the £15 parking is a better option but I feel that the charge should be transparent when booking.
The hotel upgraded me to an executive room which was lovely but I was concerned about the security as there’s a central reception desk but no way of policing who had access to the house I was in . There is an electronic door opening system and the same key was used for both main door and bedroom . I may of course have felt differently if I’d not seen the drunk man outside the hotel .

The hotel had only just opened from being reserved and it was lovely. When we arrived the receptionist kim was very friendly and helpful and told us we had been upgraded. The room was very big with a lovely modern bathroom.We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. I had also already booked another stay in another hotel in the same road for June, which turned out to be the part of the same hotel and where we stayed. They aso own the pub opposite which had been redecorated recently and the staff there were very friendly too. would highly recommend this hotel and it's only a 10 minute walk from the theatre which we visited last night and will again in June.

Such a beautiful and luxurious hotel, we had a wonderful stay! The rooms are very clean, shower is nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the decor in the room was very tasteful. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also delicious and they have such a great choice of food on the menu, wonderful vegan choices in particular!

This boutique hotel locates right in front of the ocean park, 3-4 mins walk to the beach. Actually it's surrounded by “Florence Suite, Florence House Boutique, Somerset House Boutique hotels”, they are managed by the same group.
I enjoyed the service, cleanness and the super breakfast of the hotel, but the amenities still needed improvement. Such as bigger washstands, shower available in every room.
In general, a lovely hotel with great service, would come back again.

We traveled down for an event, but got to experience the beautiful waterfront as well! we had perfect weather, cold, but so beautiful! We enjoyed the Wharf and all the shops and restaurants!

The Room was a disappointment, it was in the Basement, no view at all. There were no Arm Chairs, which we were looking forward to having, its nice to have e a cuppa, but not sitting on the Bed. It was simply NOT the lovely large Executive Room as in the picture, it was two thirds of that size. The Staff were not exactly friendly, (apart from one person) with the Lady who showed us to the Room not in the best mood, she stressed "its underground" we realised that was the Room. We were told when booking this was the last room they had. The Hotel was immaculately clean with tasteful decor, very nice. The Bed was like being on a boat. Having Breakfast, we had to ask for Sugar, Milk, Sauce, Toast (Toast, that's the first item you expect with a full English Breakfast. There was a Lounge and Cinema Room not open to us, it was odd to be banished to our Room. The Building we stayed in was not in the main Hotel, not a good feeling. It was not a warm stay, the atmosphere was not the lovely warmth of feeling one would want.

Am so glad to say i wrote the previous review in haste. Within thirty minutes the heating was on and the room was toastie. Just had an exceptional breakfast. Would definitely come back. Have absolutely nothing negative to say about this lovely friendly hotel.

Lovely room, great size, spotlessly clean, very friendly polite staff. Breakfast had a great choice to choose from, served in the charming restaurant or outside in the garden. Parking was available free, a big bonus by the coast.

Stattons is a great hotel, good location, great staff and very helpful / knowledgeable about the area.
Comfortable and quiet - 2 minutes walk from Southsea beach and 5 minutes walk ( with long legs ) from main shopping and dining area..
Breakfast was great - a lot of choice, well presented and very good quality.
Definitely recommend the hotel.
Not part of hotel but within the group - the Gastro Pub ( Florence Arms ) was disappointing - chicken and tarragon pie, lots of vegetables then smothered in dark brown gravy which clashed with the sauce in the pie.

This was my third visit to Stattons and its whole demeanour suits me and the business trips I am undertaking. A plus is the closeness to The Florence Arms gastro Pub that is also part of the same Mercer Group but is renowned in Southsea for good quality service, food and atmosphere. For me it is the complete package with an individual touch. Breakfast also hit the spot being individually cooked and waitress service. Highly recommended.

beautiful hotel. comfy bed and room. warm and cosy. breakfast was a treat gorgeous with a lovely selection of breakfast meals. quiet hitel right near the sea front. has a bar in the hotel and a pub nearby which is also owned by the hotel. inly slight niggle was that the wifi wasnt too clever on the top floor but apart from that everything was spot on

Check in was smooth and the young lady was very helpful with suggestions for things to do and eating places nearby. There is a pub that is owned by the same group that owns this hotel and some others, we ate there one night and the food was great. The hotel is in a great location close to the sea, very nice place to stay.

The room was clean and nicely decorated. The person at the desk was welcoming, helpful and seemed interested in me and my time during the stay there. The downside to this hotel is the rooms are upstairs and there isn’t an elevator. Even tho they helped carry my luggage to my room on the third floor, I still had to walk them up and down throughout my stay. Even the entrance has stairs just to get to the front door! Not good for disabled people.

Our stay at Stattons was great. The room was lovely. Very clean and nicely decorated, with plenty of space. The bathroom was on the small side but it didn’t bother me or my partner, it had what we needed.
The staff were very attentive and accommodating letting us leave our bags and car on arrival, before check-in so we could make the most of the day and after check-out for the same reason.
There is a private car park around the back which is what initially drew us to the hotel.
I highly recommend adding the breakfast, it was delicious and a great price.
It’s about a 40 minute walk to the Naval Dockyard but it’s a nice stroll along the seafront for the best part, we got an Uber back one evening which cost £4.60 so only a little more that the bus.
Portsmouth is lovely and we will definitely stay at Stattons again or try another of the Mercer Collection Hotels.

Firstly our room was probably the worst in the hotel, as it was the only one on the ground floor, and the door opened into the reception and breakfast room. You could hear the receptionist's conversations and people having breakfast in the morning. The room was half the size of the rooms in the pictures and the bathroom was smaller than a cupboard. The staff were very pleasant and nice, but anyone booking this hotel, I suggest you put in your requests NOT ROOM NINE. The upstairs rooms would be so much nicer.

Problem with window latch in bedroom meant the wind blew through all night disturbing our sleep (was a particularly strong wind that night)

Good location near to beach and 40 minute millennium walk to Old Dockyards , Victory, Mary Rose etc. Staff could'nt have been more friendly and helpful and cheerful. Great breakfasts with good choice and freshly cooked. Will certainly go again and recommend this hotel to friends.

Enjoyed a short holiday in Southsea. Great shopping outlet, nice pubs,lovely walk along promenade. Hotel food good. Nice and quiet with good decor.
