The place is the exact opposite of modern . It is very old .Rooms are very small .No chairs or couch .People were VERY nice .

The Viking Lodge is a very nice local family owned lodge with a cozy home-like atmosphere. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. A sweet young lady, Holland, checked me in, and willing answer any questions about the area. The Lodge has several places to eat right across the street. I definitely recommend this lodge and will stay again if in the area.

Small economy room was spacious enough for 1-2 people. Kind staff, but best reachable by phone. Only minor detail was the motion-detecting fire alarm thing on the ceiling. Every time I would move in my bed, a dimmed light would go on. I almost set off a test alarm when I tried to turn it off, before I realized what this thing was.

We loved our brief stay. The Viking Lodge is a kind of antique--modest but charming. The location is fabulous--steps from two breweries and restaurants. Cordial and easy check-in and the price is right. Don't expect luxury, but you'll be comfortable and you can keep your car parked. We'll be back!

Cozy, little, old-school hotel! Loved it!! Tons of character! Tucked in among some trees, but right on Main Street in downtown Winter Park. Excellent location for accessing some fun night spots, right across the street. Wish I brought my own pillow!

Location was on the end of town closest to the resort, which made it quick and easy to drive back and forth. Room was small but comfortable for a single guest. Had trouble with coffee maker in the lobby one morning (breaker issue I believe). Just got coffee at nearby coffee shop other days.

Very cozy lodge, nice common area with fireplace, coffee, tea, and snacks. Very friendly staff. Check out time is 10:00am but we were allowed to stay later at no charge. Very convenient location close to restaurants, shopping, ski rentals and shuttles. Reasonable price. Recommend strongly.

Hotel is in the middle of town If you were staying with kids the bunk area upstairs would be ideal. The hotel is rustic and fun but if you are looking for a new modern hotel this is not the right place. We enjoyed it and had a great time

Awesome place to stay. Friendly service, cute and comfy room, and the entire place was comforting to end up at the end of our long day. Called in advance to request a later than usual check-in and they were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

The floors were so squeaky that I felt guilty walking around in my room for fear I was disturbing the room below. Sound between my room and next door was not well muffled. The bed was great, but the headboard bumped against the wall every time I moved. Hangers in the closet would have been nice. Lots of character in the Lodge itself which made up for most short-comings.

The picture on this page is the picture used to show us the lodge site. It does nor properly describe the much more urban, small, crowded site that the lodge is part of. It is on the corner of a busy street with shops, buses and construction.Parking lot, traffic,businesses. The $307 price was for "our biggest room, with a family area, two queen beds, and two twins." The room was a very small 60's type room; no family area, one quenn down, no twins, the other queen up a ladder. The bed was cozy, the temperature comfortable. Said there was a shuttle to the train station. Although their is a city bus that took us to the station, it was difficult with our luggage. It was not the hotel's shuttle. The owner was very nice and helpful.

We spent all day in Rocky Mountain National Park and needed an affordable place to recoup. Very charming and cozy. The owner was quite hospitable and helpful.

A lot of small things that could be fixed. Bathroom door doesn’t close, drip in the sink, grime in the corners, old flat pillows... people were nice, but room was very sub par. Especially for the price. The TV was the size of a laptop, no fridge, no WIFI in room, ceiling was bowing which was a little unnerving... they were supposed to charge my card at the lodge, but put it through a week prior.
