Staff was great! Lost power almost everyday. Second time there and i guess has been multiple owner. Needs improvements.

Arrived latter then anticipated but still within their stated limit. However reception gave me the impression that they may had already given our room away.
Where they sent us the first night, looked like an older section that had been half heartedly remodeled to match the rest of the resort. The fridge wasn’t cooling, and after having someone fix it for half the day, we asked to be moved once it started leaking water all throughout the kitchen and living area.
They moved us to a room on a second level for our second and third night. It was the same room I’ve been in before and from there we had a great Experince.
Lagoon side is always my preference, with the beautiful sunsets and lush grass. Hard to get a peaceful early morning of quiet when the restaurant staff are setting up while blaring ether cell phone music.
Other than that all the staff was very helpful and polite, and worked diligently to fix our frustrations.
Pool was nice, but could have been kept more clean, and you had to wait for pool towels as they never seemed to have enough on hand.
Next time I go, I will request my same room, bring my own ice cube trays, and beach towel.

The greatest part of this stay was the amazing beach views. Beautiful Hotel, lawn well kept, But one of the double bed was broken, when I called the response was immediately but it wasn’t fixed properly. The microwave didn’t work, the bathroom cabinet was old, needs to upgrade or revarnish. Seems like same from 8 years old since previously Belize Ocean Club. We had guests of 4 with dinner plates for 3. When ask for more, was told they had shortage. Bar tenders had no personality. Pool side bar close too early and lack entertainment. We also had dinner for birthday celebration ask for dessert that never came,No one thank us for dinning in Laguna restaurant. Waiters need more customer service skills in engaging with people with polite humor. Food was delicious and gentlemen that said He was Food and Beverage manager was the best! He should train in hospitality to all. I would give review of 3stars 🌟🌟🌟

They made dealing with various food issues easy. Also the excursion we took through the tesort was amazing and easily booked.

Beautiful location, gorgeous beach. Kinda far from town - I forgot to check before booking. But it was luxurious and comfortable.

I liked the staff I like the quite professional setting. I liked the restaurant and bar.

Rooms were spacious with 2 bedrooms and two baths. Wifi was very intermittent. No pool on lagoon side and no beach. Had to walk across street for pool and beach. Restaurant was expensive but good food. Everything was in American dollars which was confusing at times because the rest of the island is in belizian dollars. Overall good but not excellent. Would probably stay again but on the ocean side.

This resort is a nice resort but could use some updating. Sink had major rust under the glass top, fuzzy growing stuff on some sealant to
The wood sink base and things just looked tired. The staff were nice and helpful despite a rough start of them not being responsive. The food was good. Bring your bug spray as mosquito and sand fleas are out in the mornings and after dark.

Great trip overall. Our first time in Belize and tough not to compare to other countries. A bit pricey for the experience but was a great vacation for parties seeking a quaint experience. Recommend checking out their sister resort, Jaguar Reef in Hopkins as well.

Omg this was an amazing place, everything spotless and beautiful. High end customer service, great food….everything was just amazing! I can’t even find the words to describe how wonderful our stay was. Thank you, I highly recommend!

The staff here are incredible but we had a few hiccups. Do not stay in room 201. The view was beautiful and close to pool but the bed and pillows are rock hard. We had a very noisy neighbour above us (at 12-3am) and we were unable to move rooms even though the resort was empty. Most of the time it was quiet but then a bus would arrive with large groups to use the amenities. Even with the increased people it was still not as busy as most resorts. We stayed beginning of Dec and I understand this is probably a way for the resort to make up lost revenue during slow season. The food was great and there was free parking for our rental car. Too far from town for a golf cart.

The water in the main shower kept leaking but that was because of the open concept and water started to build up in a corner and over flowing.
After a shower the water would make its way out of the bathroom. We hadn't noticed until we came off the bed and stepped in water

It seems a good value for the money, as I had an apartment size room, with kitchen facilities, living room and 2 bedrooms, also with a balcony overlooking the sea. One thing, I wish the shower did not spray you when you turned it on, because the turn on valve was across from where you had to reach from the side of the tub. Also, at the opposite end of the tub is where the faucets were, so a person would climb in, but there was no sliding door, so the floor on the edge of the tub would get wet, meaning you better put a towel down at edge of the tub.

My wife got stung by a scorpion while having breakfast, fortunately nothing bad happened and she did well but it ruined our entire plan for the day. Staff was helpful and reassured about the recovery. On the second morning of our stay there was no running water on the entire premises and we had to wait for the office staff to arrive in the morning to address the issue. Otherwise the hotel is on a beautiful piece of land with good access to lagoon and beach. Pool was clean. Food at the pizzeria was expensive (around $25 USD for a 12 inch). Food at the hotel restaurant was fairly priced. Rooms were clean but a bit dated. This place is convenient for families.

Many air conditioning issues. They do not have a maintenance technician. Standard response is: assume customer is unknowledgeable regarding HVAC servicing, try remote, reset breaker. I told them the relay is stuck on a unit because it runs continuous regardless of setpoint on thermostat. Chicken under-cooked, steak amazing, new bartender was great, more friendly than the rest of staff…so they might not keep him.

Didn’t clean room well and no coffee left besides first night one pot. Theses are condos rented out by property. Not up to my standards for the price

My husband, daughter and I spent 8 nights on the beach side. We had an amazing time. We loved the restaurant for breakfast and the pizza place.
The staff is wonderful! Every single one!! There was a new employee who started on Monday, 21st at the pool area who was also very kind.
I think it is a wonderful place and you can't go wrong!!

We booked a 2 bedroom and 2 bath 2nd floor beachfront room with balcony at Umaya through Expedia. We were contacted and informed by Umaya that there was construction going on at the resort and that we needed to be moved to a different resort. We were moved from Umaya(Placencia) to Almond Beach Resort(Hopkins). When we arrived at the Almond Beach resort we were provided with our room, but it was not a 2nd floor with balcony. We were also informed that there was no construction going on at Umaya. I was expecting a bad visit after hearing that. The Almond Beach resort was very nice and we had a wonderful time. The kindness of the staff at Almond Beach was incredible. They bend over backwards to provide a wonderful experience. From the receptionist who greeted us on arrival to the grounds keepers, everyone there knows the meaning of service. The employees at the resort always greeted me by my name and with a smile. There were 2 who especially had an impact on our visit to Almond Beach. They are Captain Larry and Salam. These 2 gentlemen could brighten any cloudy day or improve a sunny one. They were always ready to help out with any activity at the resort or provide beautiful flower arrangements at your door for the next morning. These 2 gentlemen helped to make our family vacation unforgettable.

There was no hot water in my room. They checked my into my room 50 minutes late. Toilet kept running and no water pressure. There was a nice size balcony with a great view. Pool needed work looked run-down.

We stayed at the resort for 4 nights this July.
The resort property is lovely - beautiful sunsets on the lagoon side, ocean front pool, white sand beach. Views from the rooms are great from either side.
The checkin process was seamless and Michelle was excellent. Really nice and did a great job explaining the facilities around the property.
Pool and poolside bar was fun; however we happened to be there with a couple large groups and had our beach towels pinched - $40US hit. IMHO save your $ and just use bath towels.
We didn’t use the shuttle facilities and found much better value food options in town. Pizza was pushing $25US for a 12”. Skipped the main restaurant.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was nice having a kitchen. The in room water cooler was appreciated. The resort could make it a bit more convenient by providing a few more items - only 2 water glasses but 4 wine glasses lol and no bowls.
One of the AC units didn’t work and they couldn’t fix it - left one room almost unbearably hot.
We enjoyed the stay and would go back - but the resort is showing it’s age.

I liked the authentique decor of the main restaurant and the common areas. Michelle (front desk) and Alton (tour guy) were the very helpful but the restaurant crue were very slow. The resort is pretty remote from Placencia and free shuttles very limited. (plus, you need to book it ahead) The 2 restaurants were good but pricy and the waiters pretty nonchalant. The onsite offered activities are pretty limited so if you seek for a more active stay and some adventures, prepare to pay extra. That said The ocean view was beautiful and the patio on the lagoon side offered a nice relaxing view.

This was a good place for a family stay the pool and beach are easy on site. The food is good but pricey and not enough options for children. So, bring your own snacks. The hotel did not provide pool towels in the room and asked that we leave the pool towels by the pool. However, there were never any clean towels for us to use at hte pool , so bring your own towels. I have yet to have room ready on time for any of the Myuy Ono hotels in Belize. So, don't expect to be in your room at check in. Finally air conditioners were not working.

I went there with my wife. We spent 4 days .The property is beautiful. Our room had an ocean view. We were only steps away from the beautiful beach. The restaurant in the property “la Laguna “ was excellent. We enjoyed our breakfasts with fried jacks. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. Alton and Michelle at the front desk helped us with everything that we needed.
