Everything. It’s perfect. It’s everything the Amalfi coast pretends to be. It’s absolutely paradise and the staff is lovely, the grounds are lovely and of course we all want to gatekeep this place - in fact, shoo, go away, don’t listen to me, Positano is amazing (I am just trying to keep my spot in this place free). Truly the best service on the whole island. Do take their restaurant recommendation for going into town - we loved it so much we went two nights in a row!

One of the best properties I’ve stayed at. Staff is top quality. Especially Archangelo. Their facilities are amazing. The views are another level. Amazing place to stay in Ischia. Very accommodating.

San Montano Resort is an incredible oasis with top notch service and amazing food! The breakfast is even beyond what we've experienced in Switzerland, and other parts of Italy. Also, the 360 views and 11 thermal pools are over the top. We highly recommend it.

The only drawback was the sweltering heat, which did not allow us to enjoy the hot tub outside of our suite. Also, the restaurant service during the evenings needed more service.

San Montano is an exceptional resort and we thoroughly enjoyed our six-day stay. The setting, views and overall atmosphere are absolutely beautiful, and there is a real sense of luxury throughout the property. One of the things I loved most was the amazing fragrance throughout the hotel. It was so beautiful and distinctive that I actually had to order a bottle of the Dr. Vranjes fragrance to take home! The shuttle service to the beach and town is a fantastic facility and really adds value to the stay. Taxis from the resort to places such as Forio, Sant’Angelo, Ischia town and the port can be very expensive, so having the shuttle available makes exploring the island much easier and more affordable. We also loved how organised the beach arrangements were. The beach towels were provided neatly in a bag, and the wristbands for access to the beach made everything very straightforward and hassle-free. These little touches make such a difference and show the attention to detail throughout the resort. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, and many members of staff were excellent and very helpful. We particularly appreciated how apologetic and accommodating the staff member was when there was an issue with our coffee order. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

Evening room cleaning: Although I appreciate the evening cleaning staff have a job to do, we found the repeated knocking on our door quite disruptive. There is a sign that can be placed on the door, and perhaps I should have used it, but I had personally told the staff that we would be going out at around 8pm. Despite this, on one evening the cleaner knocked three times. Perhaps better communication around guests’ plans could help avoid this. Welcome amenities: We noticed several rooms on our third-floor corridor had a welcome bottle and fruit, whereas we did not. We assumed this may have been because we had not originally booked a double room with sea view, despite subsequently being upgraded. It would be helpful to have more consistency or clarity around which rooms receive these amenities. Pool service: We found the pool staff to be less friendly and attentive than other staff at the resort. The buzzers on the umbrella stands also didn’t seem to work reliably, meaning we sometimes had to repeatedly ask for drinks. On one occasion, I waited around two hours for a coffee. To their credit, the staff member was extremely apologetic and kindly provided the coffee free of charge, which I appreciated. Housekeeping: The drinking glasses in our room were not replaced during our stay, so I had to ask the cleaners for fresh ones. A small point, but something I would expect to be taken care of as part of the usual housekeeping service. These are relatively minor issues within what was otherwise an exceptional stay. The resort is genuinely beautiful, and with a little more consistency in these areas, the experience would be even better.
