Located on the other side of Hallstatt, in the small town of Obertraun, this hotel offers a calm and serene environment. We booked a lake-view room and had an amazing view. The rooms are small but clean and well maintained.
There is a café next door and a pizza place nearby. Breakfast was basic and not worth €18. There are benches by the lake where you can sit and enjoy the view. Hallstatt is about 10 minutes away by car, boat, or bus.

The best feature is the location, next to the Lake with the lake view as advertised. The room is simple and clean, but crowed with a square hard wood table and two wood chairs, left little space for moving around in the room. We paid 5 Euro per person for checking in less than 2 hours earlier. And when we ask for the best way to go to Hallstatt, the Staff told us that there is a ferry stop next to the hotel, and told us that if you buy the ticket on the board, you pay cash, but he can sell the tickets to us with credit card, therefore, we bought 6 tickets of 14 Euro per person from him, but found that on the pier listed price is 12 euro per person. We also found later that this ferry is not the official ferry people normally use (4.5 Euro). We are okay to pay more for the convenience, however not very happy that the staff did not tell us that he charge more on the ticket, and the ferry is a tour boat. On the other hand, when I ask more information on hiking and season for next time, the staff simply said "don't know", made me feel not very welcomed.
